Comedically, this is one of my favorite episodes of the show. And I forgot about that until rewatching it and laughing myself to tears. The comedic timing from everybody this episode is just so good

Emily is such a complicated character. Fuuuuuuck. She refuses to take zero accountability for Lorelai's decision to leave but you can tell she deeply deeply wishes things had been different. There's such a longing there for what could have been, to what it would have been like not to lose so much time with not only Lorelai but seeing Rory grow up and to be a much bigger part in that Her patterns of refusing to see Lorelai's side of things always makes things worse but I can't help but feel empathetic as somebody who also tends to dwell on what could have been with people who are no longer around for one reason or another

The actress who played Mia unfortunately passed away a few weeks ago. I thought she did a wonderful job with the character. I love her relationship with Lorelai and Rory and really the whole town. :)
