Oh crumbs......... Hey, this is the second Saturday in a row we've had a reaction featuring the Doctor... :P

Rob Flynn

Delicious delicious crumbs!

you are totally correct in your thoughts about this being the "final" season! At the time of writing and filming, they did not know for certain if they were going to be renewed for more seasons, so they approached this season with that mindset!

codenamewitch xx

love this episode! The shot of Fitz being reflected into two mirroring images is great!

Rob Flynn

Unlimited indian food sounds amazing, I'm having a delicious homemade coconut curry while I'm watching!

Liam Catterson

It wasn't until like Episodes 20/21 around that time when they actually got renewed. I remember well, I was nervous as heck

Neil Silverman

Ooh, what would I wish for... well, I live in the US, so I'm gonna go with universal health care, that would be pretty great.

Neil Silverman

Lots of coincidental similarities in all the shows this week - the death day stuff sure, but just a couple days ago we had clone sisters dancing and now we had two Fitzes! And yeah, great reveal. Very much like an excellent movie who's name I won't say for fear of spoilers, but with a different kind of emotional weight. I, too, think that as horrible as it was, it was the right thing to do.

This is one of the big episodes for the fandom. It's a very well done episode with a gut punch of a twist. It also happened to cause some heated discussions among fans who disagreed about whether Fitz did the right thing or truly crossed a line. That debate aside, season 5 definitely had many final season vibes going on. Loads of cameos from past characters, gravitonium coming back into play, Fitzsimmons getting married and of course the literally fate of the world at stake! You are so lucky knowing there are more seasons, but at the time no one (including the show runners) knew if this would be it or not.

They'd already written and shot Episode 22, and the network renewed for season 6 FOUR DAYS before the finale aired.

As Daisy Johnson's (self-proclaimed) #1 fan, this episode hurts me so. fucking. much. But hats off to Chloe, Iain, Elizabeth, and Jeff for their acting in this episode While you have the image of Fitz putting his hands in the air and getting onto his knees in order to surrender, I always get stuck on Daisy's cries and whimpers. Something about them just replayed over and over again in my head and I always end up thinking about them when I look back at the performances in this show. They *always* make me tear up

"Who are you talking to?"... what an absolutely horrible, heartbreaking episode. Full props to Iain De Caestecker who time and time again shows his incredible acting chops. In the beginning of the episode I relate to Fitz: "I want Hobnobs and Maltesers!" Not so much the rest of the episode!

I'm finally caught up! OK, now hurry up and SHOW ME MORE!! 😁 The thing about Hunter's advice, which is good advice, Fitz didn't KNOW when it was time to let the shadow side out. Well, part of him knew, but because he'd had that brain injury before, he didn't CONSCIOUSLY know it. Now he does and, like the Jemma conscience he reintergrated, he has accepted the Leopold part of him back into himself. From now on, he should be able to choose when to let out the darkside.

darcieswatchingbuffy

oh i can see why! its SO SO SO good, so many parts well done, and even upon rewatch during editing i was like OH the set up was SO good!!

darcieswatchingbuffy

i love her so much!! the "who are you talking to" i was like OMG............

darcieswatchingbuffy

omg youre right! and i was thinking this is called the devil complex and we just had the god complex with doctor who like not all my shows in sync!

darcieswatchingbuffy

LMAO! omg yes exactly! thats how advice usually goes - you dont know when youll need it until you need it!

Thadman

Well, I'm saying that, in THIS case, Fitz LITERALLY didn't know 'cause he wasn't conscious of it. He had a psychotic break and since The Doctor (Leopold) was a whole other life/personality, it was more akin to DID than him choosing to use what he'd learned as The Doctor. The Doctor just decided to take over to do "what needed to be done" and put Fitz in the backseat. I'm sure Hunter would've been like, "that advice I gave you, this is not exactly what I meant." Unless you're saying that happens to you also, then I apologize. 😋

When I first watched up to where you were at in season 4 I didn't watch the movie saturdays, so after rewatching 5 seasons of shield reactions and some movies I am back up to date for. this episode. What a point to catch up.

Natasha

Hey, I know this is completely unrelated to this show, but I didn't know where to contact you else. I was wondering if you will react to Agent Carter too or of you have watched this series in private. I'm relatively new here and was just wondering

darcieswatchingbuffy

hey natasha!! first - welcome in :) second, i did watch the first season of AC but it was an edited down version, i think its tagged here as Agent Carter S1 but let me know if you cant find it! reason i did that was because i dont have time to add another show but i was told about some fan edits where they edit the season down to like 3 hours so i tried that - but it didnt seem to be everyones cup of tea! i may revisit the show after AoS but im not sure what the consensus will be on which marvel show to do next! and also you can always DM me if you have questions about anything! might take me a bit to respond overall but i try and get to everyone :)

Thadman

My preference would be for you to watch all of Agent Carter before the final season of AoS. You don't have to react to it, but I wouldn't mind seeing it if you did 'cause I'd love to see you catch all the references to things both in the wider MCU and especially to things on AoS. I'm not a fan of cutdowns because you miss character stuff because they usually focus on story points (action that move the plot forward) and not character moments. Mmmaybe we can compromise and you can watch S1 on your own, since you did the cutdown of it, and react to S2...perhaps...? Just a suggestion. I mean, Agent Carter DID air in the middle of AoS seasons, so taking a break from AoS to watch Agent Carter actually fits in with the...aesthetic.😁

Natasha

I have watched Agent Carter before. I'm sorry of it sounded like I was new to the mcu. I'm not, I meant that Im new on this page. Sorry, my bad. I have watched Agent Carter and Agents of Shield before. Again, my bad for letting it sound like I haven't before. I was just wondering, because I haven't found a Playlist to agent carter if she had seen the show yet or not. As you said, it did air in the middle of AoS. And yeah, especially for the last season it would make sense to at least have watched the first season

That stuff with Fitz is heart-wrending. I thought maybe it was an LMD or he did that portal thing like Ava somehow... that's the best thing about this rewatch. The surprises and gut-punches are all still there because there is just SO MUCH that happens in every single episode. Even in the recap at the top, I was like "all that happened in the last few episodes??" And that moment with Deke and Jemma...the tears were, indeed, nonstop. This show, man...I'm so glad you're watching this show. More people should. ALSO also, did that guy talking to Hale look blue to you? He looked blue to me. Was he Cree? We already know with W/Hive that inhumans were created by the Cree (I think...am I remembering that right?)...so have they been behind Hydra all this time?? I do not know. But, he looked blue... And if he is Cree, does THIS lead to the future we saw? Or could it? Especially now, with Daisy's power's restored...omg. ...See you in the next one!
