This episode is super fun. One of the great things about this show is the discovery that David Boreanaz is a really good comedic actor. In Buffy he almost always had to play it straight and in this episode he gets to show some range.

I really enjoy this episode. I feel like it’s one that is really underrated. It’s super funny and but then has a little emotion to it as well. David does such a great job when he gets to do comedy. I love the “when I go vamp I feel like you judge me” and then “you could be a rainbow, instead of a painbow!”

the one thing that makes me saddest is that i don’t think Bones ever really let. David express his comedic skills the way Angel did. There are scenes coming up (including closing credits!) that will have you laughing so hard you might hurt yourself!

Don't feel bad about laughing! It was pretty obviously being played for laughs. That was the right response in that situation! Sure, Buffy has had some unintentionally funny stuff (especially in season one), but by this point I think for the most part both shows have found their footing enough that most of the funny parts are *meant* to be funny. There will still probably be exceptions to that (depending on your sense of humor), but for the most part we're past the point where the "serious" or "scary" parts are funny because they were badly played or executed.
