I’d consider this episode one of the all time Buffyverse Classics and one of the best episodes of Angel. Just really well written and fun but with a sad undertone at times. Also Cordellia/Angel > Buffy/Angel

One of my favorites of the season! Great reaction! I love how you catch all the build ups and the gags. The "tag", the "Pastries", "tight an d trippin'". A lot of reactors seem to miss those.

Overall I prefer the modern approach of shorter seasons that stay focused on the overarching plot of the season/series, but it means you're less likely to get a gem like this. There's no real reason for the crew to just go to the ballet at this point in the story. The Wesley/Fred/Gunn and Angel/Cordy/Groo stuff could have been worked into practically any episode. The parallels with the monster-of-the-week would be missing, but if you only have 13 episodes instead of 22 you're not doing monster-of-the-week anyway. Generally that's a good thing - a lot of shows wasted a lot of time on forgettable filler (or filler that was unforgettable for the wrong reasons). Angel has some that too ("She" springs to mind), but generally the Whedonverse was able to use its longer seasons to better effect than what came before.

This episode is exactly why I love standalone episodes. This one reminds me a lot of the season 2 episode of Buffy where her and angel get possessed and deliver a monologue. Also, who doesn't like a night out for the gang!
