Oh, I love this for us!

Do you have the dvd? Because there’s a second entirely different musical there too…

This is his dry cleaning bill….FOUR sweater vests !

This is one of my favorite things ever ♥️

Colleen

It has been forever since I've seen this! It was created in 2008 during the writer's strike (I think Whedon wrote and produced it with his brothers) and I remember I had to buy each act on iTunes

You might recognize Nathan Fillion (Captain Hammer) from a few places. He's probably best known for Firefly and Castle. Felicia Day (Penny) created and starred in the web series The Guild and was a founder of the YouTube channel Geek & Sundry. I won't say where or when, but keep watching what you're watching and you'll see both of them again. :-)

"I don't know if this is a funny musical ..." - yep - " ... or a sad musical ..." - oh, also yep...

That’s Not Acting

Thank you so much for checking this out. My favorite moments were definitely the little expressions that would flash across your face when Captain Hammer would say... well, anything, lol. And just a quick, mandatory hats-off to Neal for acting his ass off especially through the first few lines of that final song.

Svetlana Grabar

I love this musical! I have some of the songs on my spotify playlists. Especially the last one- "Here lies everything, the world I wanted at my feet.." I've heard that so many times and it still stings. Great actors and great songs, I'm glad you checked it out :) "The Guild" is a youtube series that stars Felicia Day. It's pretty great, might be worth checking out!

Other weird musical mention tangentially connected to Buffy, "Repo! The Genetic Opera". Thanks for doing Dr Horrible!!! 💜

The Movie Guru

I have to also recommend Repo! The Genetic Opera. It is a Horror Rock Opera staring Anthony Stewart Head (Giles), Sarah Brightman, Paris Hilton (of all people), and Alexa PenaVega (Spy Kids). It has a killer soundtrack and is directed and produced by some of the mind behind the Saw franchise.

Neil Silverman

Man, I haven't watched this in years... thank you for bringing it back. I'd forgotten how good it is. NPH is just so fantastic. And of course Felicia Day and Nathan Fillion are always solid. And now that you've seen him as Captain Hammer, maybe check out Nathan Fillion in Firefly when you get a chance to add something new. It's only 14 episodes and a movie, so not a huge commitment, and I guarantee you'll enjoy it.

omg what a nice surprise to see this here
