Darcie, the guillotine pic over your head- that made me giggle. Also, "I trust (Andrew's) creative direction"... your dry wit is the best. I have always enjoyed this episode but on rewatch I really fell in love with it. You are spot on, it is totally meta- not only because it is a story told mainly from an outsider's POV but also it is done in such a way that if you just happened upon this episode as a first-time watcher, I find it is a really helpful and entertaining way to bring you up-to-date. And as a long-time fan, I love the call-back to the early HS episodes like "Out of Mind, Out of Sight" and Buffy just flat-out telling Principal Wood part of the original premise of the show: "There's a thing that happens here over the Hellmouth.. Where a way a thing feels actually starts happening for real.. Being at high school can feel like being at war. Now it's true." Or in other words, "high school is hell". I also love Andrew describing Xander as "the Heart" of the Scoobies. This is also one of the original premises of the show: Xander is metaphorically Buffy's heart, as was first suggested to the viewer in S4's "Primeval", when we saw the tarot cards. They even give a shout-out to “Buffyspeak”, which was an actual term coined by fans and critics for the special way the characters talk throughout the series: When Principal Wood tells Buffy the evil from the Hellmouth is getting all “focus-y”, to which Buffy replies, "You're even starting to speak like me"- get it? "Buffy speak"? The scene with Buffy and Andrew over the seal at the end is fantastic and even better upon rewatch in my opinion. Andrew is great, but SMG just really nails Buffy's complexity of emotions. Her unflinching nerve. Her resolve to do what needs to be done. Her sadness that this is the way it is.

I’m so happy that you are loving Andrew! I think the addition of his character this season was a stroke of genius!

When you talked about Principal Wood and Spikes story, I immediately thought about Buffy and Faith's arc after she turned evil. I.ve heard of people who don't see pictures in their brain. How do you know what it is you're looking for? I've thought of the first as pitch blackness. You think of it as a church? What kind of church do you go to?

I couldn't tell if you caught it (it's blink and you'll miss it), but there was a special cameo from the Cheese Man in Andrew's dream.

To those commenters who chose to attack me over my last comment, misconstruing what I said and hurling false allegations at me, well done. You successfully formed together to create a hostile environment. Me lamenting something, especially something as minor as anything to do with a television show, is simply me lamenting something. It is not me attacking anyone. It is not me shaming anyone. It is not me making any sort of demands. As it was being used to grand stand, by supposedly coming to Darcie's defence, that comment has been deleted. It is this kind of hostility that drives people away from supporting creators, you can all be proud of yourselves.

I'm so happy you loved this episode, or at least laughed a lot, because I love it too!! I've seen a lot of people who don't like it and don't like Andrew because of his past, which fair enough, but I love and need his comedic relief in this season. I would definitely like a subscribe to him! lol. Your ending!! <3 That was so special and just the best!!! I had to go back and rewatch it! I see the first as that image of it from when it used Willow or went through her or whatever in an earlier episode and it was all yellow and spooky. I think before that it was such an abstract idea that I didn't have any visual in my head. Yours was interesting to listen to! We are as Gods lives rent free in my head 24/7. I love it. I've been waiting for that moment since Andrew showed up in season 7! I literally would buy a sticker of it. I had fun watching Andrew's imagination today! Oh!! And did we talk about Wood trying to take out Spike?!!!! It's getting intense!! 6 episodes is so many, yet far too few! At least there'll be one more season of Angel after Buffy ends.
