Genuinely one of my favourite episodes. Probably ranks just outside the top 10 for the show for me. Some powerful lines in there. Don’t fuck with Spike, you numbnuts. Also, that song insertion was hilarious!

Love this episode so much and I couldn't wait for you to see it. Growing up is painful - for the child and the parent. Papa Giles needed to learn that. And you really got me with that song. I thought I was going crazy. 😂

This is my favorite episode of the season. Spike's redemption arc is amazing and his importance to Buffy is paramount. He really is the only one who is 100% on her side.

This episode is filled with so much information. I get so hyped for Dru episodes for you. Her saying that it smells of viscera! I like to think of that as a wink and a nod to Dawn learning the word viscera earlier. I love how she reacts to the idea of his mom coming with them. Ha ha! I would be the same. Also, Giles and Buffy in the cemetery, they weren't even together in a large chunk of that scene! Anthony Stewart Head left early and his parts were filmed 10 days later! It's so unbelievably heartbreaking what Wood goes through and how they end cap that with the exact same thing his mother said to him as a child, that only the mission matters, that both slayers will put the mission before him. Brutal. I'm excited. We've got a de-triggered Spike and Willow off in LA. It's party time! OH!! Your edit was the best thing ever!! I can't stop laughing about it!!

Will Buffy ever trust Giles again? This is the second time he has betrayed her after Helpless. And she knew he wasn't trustworthy in The Gift. Buffy's scene with Wood was one of the most intense of the series. "More importantly I'll let him." Buffy has never said anything like that before. Buffy said she would now let Dawn die if it would save the world, when she wasn't to defeat Glory. I think a big reason is the Potentials. How can she be willing to put their lives at risk and not be willing to do the same with Dawn?

After rewatching Band Candy and seeing young Giles, I realised he reminds me very much of Spike lol and I do wonder if that's part of the reason Giles doesn't like him. "coppers got a gun"😂
