god, I wish season 7 was better written. it feels like all of the effort was put into these big individual moments and scenes but all of the build up to those scenes, as well as the aftermath of them, were all first drafts that were written on 2 hours of sleep. I'm sorry if that sounds really harsh, but as someone who has loved this show my entire life the way the final season of this amazing show was written hurts my heart so much. it all just feels so cold. the writers are way too comfortable writing everyone completely out of character in order to force these big moments to happen, which is the exact opposite of what you should do. if you have to completely go against who your characters are in order to tell a story then it might not be the right story to tell.

Buffy and Spike's scene is about my favorite scene between them. The first being the alley scene in FFL. It was a long time coming for the two to finally sleep together after so much. I like how when Spike leaves the house he takes a moment then senses which way Buffy went.

As uneven as the writing is this season, it is a testament to the show that I (and I am guessing many of you) felt the same as Darcie, just dreading the end of this amazing series. I just love these characters so much. A little trivia: When Buffy is in the vineyard house talking to Caleb, she was originally supposed to say people might think he's a "woman-hating prick", not "jerk". But the network wouldn't allow it. To me, the "jerk" insult never landed right and now I get why.
