I watched this series when it aired in Sweden, and I remember putting off watching this final episode for YEARS because I wasn’t ready. And I have that same feeling today. I’m not ready 😭

That train photobombed (videobombed?) you so hard. LOL I couldn't tell if you noticed, but when Buffy, Xander and Willow walked away from Giles and he said, "The earth is definitely doomed," that's the same thing he said in episode one, at the end when the same three were walking away talking about what to do with school. Beautiful callback. It's fascinating how this show's ending can make us so sad and yet so happy at the same time. Before I saw the ending of this show for the first time, I had a best friend, James, who was as huge a fan of Buffy as me. He said, "In the end, Buffy got her wish." I thought he was spoiling, and I was mad at first. Until I realized he gave me no context for his statement. Then I saw the ending, and I realized what he meant. Buffy always said she wanted to be just a normal girl. With every potential now having the slayer's power, she is a normal girl. James passed away only weeks after that conversation. Now I'm glad he said that, because every time I see the ending scene, I hear his voice. "Buffy got her wish." And so she did. Every time I see that ending scene, I think of him. What a great reaction, Darcie. It's been a wild ride. For a long time, there was a lot of people who didn't take the show seriously. And now, twenty years on, the ending of this show still makes people cry. So many walk away asking themselves the same thing as the show's final line. What are we going to do now? Pretty good for a teenaged show about vampires, right?

It’s 2.00 am in my part of the world, I check my phone and see this has dropped - pft, who needs sleep anyway, entirely overrated! What a finale to a brilliant series - I bawled all those years ago when it ended and apparently will again every single time. Thanks for taking me on the Buffy journey, its been a blast watching you react to my favourite show ❤️

Not to be a downer but I dont think this finale is nearly as good as The Gift (the season 5 finale that was the last episode before they switched networks and written as a series finale) or the Angel Finale you will be seeing at the end of season 5. I find Buffy sacrificing herself in The Gift to be a more fitting finale for the show and the character. I also dont like that the thing that saved them is an amulet that Wolfram and Hart gave to Angel only after he agreed to take over as their CEO. So like all of season 7 hinged on something that happened on a different show? That's not a very satisfying conclusion for me personally. Like yes everyone fought but without Spike wearing that Wolfram and Hart Amulet they wouldnt have survived even if they were all slayers. Kind of weak. And they never really made me care enough about any of the potentials to care if they lived or died. Like Amanda died and you didn't even seem to care at all. The emotional moments between the main characters do work for me though and the cookie dough speech is cute. but overall it's just on OK finale for me.

I am 100% right with you on oatmeal raisin cookies... far and away the most underrated cookie. I know chocolate chip is the easy and obvious answer, and they ARE delicious, but I'm gonna have to go with oatmeal raisin as a favorite. Also, I don't have anything particularly insightful to say about the show or this episode. Just that going through this journey watching you discover it has been an absolute blast!

I incredibly enjoyed watching Buffy from the very beginning and rewatching this show has made me truly enjoy my rewatch and see it in a more happier light. BTW, other than chocolate chip cookies my 2nd favourite would be: Peanut butter with a chocolate kiss in the middle. I devour those cookies every time

Its great that you have finished and enjoyed the show. As fans we always love to see someone share the same enjoyment we all have had. This episode is special for me. This is the first show I was truly a die hard fan of. I watched the series for 7 years as it aired. I was living in Los Angeles during the final season and there was a massive watch party of about 500 people that got together to watch the final episode together. Amber Benson made an appearance at the party as well. The theme of the finale is that Buffy no longer needs to feel alone, and sharing that experience with those other Buffy fans that night was perfect compliment knowing that none of need to feel alone. ❤️

I'm always trying to convince friends who haven't seen it to watch with me, but few have made it through all 7 seasons. And your reactions are so real and fun! I've watched this show at least 20 times (including the original TV airing), and still cry and laugh and feel all the feelings. But I'll never get to see it for the first time again, and seeing it through your eyes has been an absolute blast! Looking forward to finishing Angel, then Agents of Shield. And if you're taking recommendations, you might have some strong feelings about Once Upon A Time and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, both strong shows in extremely different ways. Both will surprise you. Ah this was sooo much fun! Not gonna lie, my denial of anything ending forced me to put this off for the last couple of weeks but I finally got here! 😂😂 Delighted you enjoyed the series finale and totally agree that everything was wrapped up perfectly. My only issue with this one was Anya’s death but beyond that I thought this season had everything to wrap an entire show up with. Thanks for the uploads over the last seven seasons and can’t wait to see your reactions to Angel Season 5! I think I’ll be joining the charmed gang next! :P
