Hello everyone! So this weeks poll is about choosing the focus of a Brink and Back interlude. I already chose one of the perspectives, now you guys get to pick the other. Just a warning, this chapter will have a very quick turnaround, so get your votes in ASAP.

Depending on how the writing goes, I might choose to do both the first and second place choices.

I’d honestly love to see little snippets from multiple corps, fixers, and gangs. Maybe even a snippet from one of the AI’s beyond the black wall if they have figured out what our MC is capable of.

Cole Deucalion

It feels like arasaka has the most to say right now. With the comment about robots as well as the preliminary technology on display. Certainly a fixer might have a commentary about the organized effort to clear out Watson, and Tyler claws might have something to say about picking up territory from Maelstrom, but I feel like those would be better reserved for when the neighborhood comes together. Same thing for the conversation about the bar, right now any conversation in a casual bar in night City should probably be heavily skeptical. I'd be much more interested in learning about the man on the streets opinion after the neighborhood is finished.

Meadow

Maybe we get the Arasaka and the fixers, 2 interludes perhaps? This IS a rather impactful development on the city

UponAPaleHorse45

Ya the fixers gonna win, but maybe thats for the best. My vote was for the boardroom but its better to wonder where their heads are at until they make their move. Probably going to drive everyone crazy that it seems like nothing is happening, right up until Arasaka very much is doing something.

OmegaNano

Hear me out... both? (Arasaka, Fixers)

Uncle Snoo

I feel he's still a ways away from being a topic of discussion in Arasaka board meetings.

James Blaauw

The only problem I have with the boardroom choice is that it feels like it will be a really short scene. What has our lead and his friends really done that stands out to the megacorp like Arasaka. One or two things I can think of like buying up Watson and booting out maelstrom. Another is the minor tech he has given out through his business. The fixers already have an in. Secrets could be shared but we can also get a short sequence asking about the megacorps

Loghead101

I’m with James on this. What could Arasaka try to talk about other a new player in the board, interesting tech, no legal grounds to stand in to attack, doesn’t stop them before, spy and scout. At least with the fixers two of them actually have had contact and can exchange info. They actually have an in. They could already talk about what the corps would try to do and we would get the same info. Save the corps for later after a big tech showcase, and not just Arasaka but Militech, Boitechnica and Night Corp.

Drumic

I'm voting for fixers but with Arasaka it gives the author a chance to remind everyone why Corpo = Bad. Easy to put in a scene where the board are discussing what little they know, then cut to a scene of some Arasaka Intel agents being interviewed and then punished/executed for failing to get good intel and making their boss look bad.

Drumic

He may be far away from Arasaka global but I could see Arasaka night city branch discussing him. He just purchased a large area near them, displayed tech they dont have or is rare, showed off potential products which compete with theirs and bad mouthed their robots at a press conference.

Urbane_Bomber

I think Arasaka would have a meeting simply because Abarnathy would want to know about the shiny new corp that placed on there doorstep. Also, if V is a corpo (dont remember if it was established or not), it would be a great intro of them.

Duke of Coffee

Been awhile since we had a interlude with fixers.

William

Why is everyone forgetting the "Stealth" tech that all the corps will be losing their minds over from the possibility that Tinker tech could launch an attack anywhere on anyone at anytime and would be completely unexpected, im not saying I think the corp meeting is the best pick, but it does have SOME potential.

Icarae

The fixer meeting is worthwhile, like yeah he called out arasaka on their robots but like that's one project out of how many they have going and he's proportedly the head of a think tank so him having better robotics isn't too out the question (especially with what said "think/tink tank" has been releasing), but fixers? Dakota and Padre know this Mans they know exactly how bullshit he is

It'sATap

All of them have stealth tech already, and the age old DnD strategy of detecting invisibility still holds, scatter dust, look for where dust disturbed, find invisible target. Only way to beat that system is to somehow use projection tech that can work from within a stealthed point and somehow not be detectable by light scanners.

It'sATap

Only interesting thing is how high in Arasaka it'd be. Would just be the lower level execs and the Counter intel guys? Or would it reach the heads. Would the arasaka family be involved?

It'sATap

He could write a scene starting from a counter intel operation trying to gather information. Then them taking what they find to the meeting?

Heidao

Definitely the fixer meeting, especially when two of them, Padre and Dakota, have direct involvement and investment that lead to our boi's rise in success. Both will have a vested interest into moving into his new territory to live in, while the other fixers would drown them in questions. Most of all Wakako, since the Tyger Claws are currently at odds with the revealed Corp that took over Watson and nearly annihilated Maelstrom. She would want to settle that, since the last encounter was a large group of Tygers charging down a road was torn apart by heavy weapons

William

No sorry, I was trying to be sarcastic with the "Stealth" thing, when i said that I meant "StEaLtH" as in the whole plan that J used to teleport in his AVs without anyone realizing its teleportation, he made a hyperadvanced stealth system to make it look like at the highest setting, nobody can detect the AVs in any way, and they would all believe that its SUPER stealth, because as you said, they all already have stealth tech, but the real reason that no one can detect the AVs before they appear is because the AVs are teleporting to and from their launch pads while invisible; its a whole double bluff type of thing, been clearly mentioned in like 5 different chapters at this point, all the corps CANNOT detect J's AVs for the entire journey, because at a certain point the AVs teleport away, and whether the Corps knew this or not, they would absolutely being freaking the fuck out right now.

Heidao

Shield barrier to keep dust away and a holoprojection array to give the illusion that it's still blowing through. Unless they move, no one's gonna notice the ring clear of powder. And considering how a whole fleet just appeared over the city with none the wiser, Sam and the others must've thrown all the stealth tech from the trees into them to full every kind of sensor all of the Corps could've had for protection

Nicholaus Lee Kim

I’m gonna have to go with both but I think the one you’re missing is the NUSA interlude as the president is more or less looking for someway to ‘take back’ Night City. The unification wars none withstanding this New Company that they had zero idea of making enough to buy parts of the city will have the Counter Intelligence of both Arasaka and the NUSA shot because of lack of info. Would be interesting to see how many people trying to dig up info on them through Night City fixers.

MontyTzeen

I voted for the Arasaka Boardroom, though I understand why the Fixer Meeting is a more popular choice. Perhaps it might be more suitable for an Arasaka interlude to occur AFTER Jackson has unleashed some of his revolutionary innovations upon Night City and the world?

William

Any idea how long it'll be before we hit the next tech tree? Or what that tree might be? I think I remember seeing something a while back about how you choose the trees, but i dont remember what.
