This is the extended credits theme from Epithet Erased season one. This is one of the many stretch goals courtesy of the Prison of Plastic kickstarter. We already did a "Zora Villain song", so instead of retreading the same territory I decided to make this song an exploration of Zora's backstory.

Be sure to check out the animated lyric video here.

=== LYRICS ===At the stroke of sundownThere's a shadow in the woodNot sure what she's up toBut you know it ain't no good

She's a demon, she's a devil,She's a rough-and-tumble rebelYeah, she's far beyond your level and She's watching you...

Oooh, ooooh...

In the gloamy orange lightYou won't live to see the night

In the woods you hear a whisperCould it be the Phantom Drifter? There's a chance you went n' missed herJust don't turn around...In a flash she's there behind youOut of sight and out of mindAnd now no one will ever find youBuried six feet down...

Staring at the sundown A green flash of memoryIn the lambent light I spyMy ma, my pa, and me

We were diggin’ for a dino‘Neath a sunny morning sky, thoughLookin’ back now only I knowWhat it’s gonna be…

Oooh, ooooh...

They unearthed that golden boxFrom the dirt and bone and rockAnd the Banzais came a-crawlin’What they did then was appalling’Golden hunger ever-callin’Needing to be fedAnd those yellow-bellied cowardsSaw that ma ‘n pa were showeredWith a lead rain and the flowersWere a blooming red

-- (whistle break) --

Summers full of sundownsWinters flew by like the leavesLittle girl grew up aloneAnd learned to shoot the breeze

Moved from drillin’ on to killin’Made her livin’ as a villainHeart is broke, but body willin’And the gun’s for hireSomeone said “Your gun’s misguided”Had a fight that was one-sidedEye-to-eye they both Kaleid-edCame down to the wire…

She’s a demon… she’s a devil…Finally someone on her levelFound a base to match her trebleNow she comprehends

And the dawn, she starts to brightenFinally knows why she is fightin’On her own she was a titanNow she’s among friends…

Ooh…

Oooooh.

My favorite song in the show, I'm so glad we got this version!

I'm guessing bullets were either changed to be non-lethal sometime later or the Banzai's had epithets which made the bullets do much more then minor impact damage.

Why is base in this song spelled base instead of bass?
