๐๏ธ Small Tip of Creating Colour Palette โ๏ธ (Patreon)

I've struggled for a long time to find the right colour palette for my work (and I still do, though it's a bit easier now). I've taken colour theory courses and studied at university for five years, yet I still find it challenging to make my art look beautiful and cosy. In this post, I'll share some tips on how to find a colour palette for your own projects!
1) Moodboards
Moodboards are a collage of images, videos, fonts and colours. They're used to communicate a visual direction, reflect a style or convey a mood. ~ Milanote
You can try to create your own mood board or find others' pictures on Pinterest or in online magazines. Personally, I find it difficult and time-consuming to find pictures for collages, but for many, it's not a chore but a whole hobby. I won't write about where you can find tutorials on how to make mood boards, as it's easy to Google, but instead, I'll provide a link to the resource where I found ready-made mood boards: Canva, Freepik and Pinterest of course.
2) Colour Palette using Photopea
You can use the pictures you've found with colours you really like and create a colour palette from them. To do this, you can use the online editor Photopea. Create a project that is 15x15 pixels (or smaller), and then drag your picture into the project. This way, you will get a colour palette from the picture you like.
3) Colour Palette using Procreate
You can also easily create a colour palette in Procreate. Just follow the instructions in the images below.
In conclusion, there are many ways to create a colour palette, and I've just described the quickest methods. I'm learning along with you.
I often save other artists' works to try to incorporate elements of their style into my own. Sometimes I like their lines, other times the dynamics, the depiction of fur, or the colours. The important thing is not to get discouraged if your work doesn't turn out as you hoped. No one in the world draws well right from the start, just as no one knows how to walk at birth.
Let me know if I made a mistake somewhere. I will also be glad to receive your advice and comments. Thank you! โค๏ธ
