Hello and hi there, Geek Squad 😉It's time for yet another podcast... and uhh... as you can tell from the length of this episode I went kinda long! Not that you mind, I'm sure 😅 If anything all the feedback suggests I should go long but no guarantees I'll go this long again anytime soon haha! But I guess after feeling so crummy for these last weeks I just couldn't help myself get lost in talking to you guys and letting y'all know I'm in good spirits, am staying busy with fun stuff, and always trying to wear a smile throughout it all ✌🏼

That said, I actually went kinda long during my video game talk, especially when I went into my time with the game Destiny... which might sound incredibly nerdy... and for whatever reason I ended up feeling quite self conscious afterward but hopefully you don't cringe too hard as I talk about stuff that gets me super excited 😆

So grab yourself a fresh drink, lay back somewhere cozy and enjoy another installment of my Cozy Corner🎙️✨

Gentle, my jaw hurts from how much I was smiling while listening to the podcast. 😁 While the subject matter might not have been up my alley, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED hearing you talk so passionately about the things that you enjoy! Though I’d say the theme of the podcast should have been “words are not wording” (I’m totally just kidding and teasing, but it’s funny cause I was telling you the words you were missing through the screen as if you could hear 😅).

I had so much to say but let's keep it short. I understand the feeling when one has several years filled with stress and events so well. It's a pressure and it can trigger things. It's probably not any consolation but the way you deal with it is so positive and optimistic and shows inner strength and just the kind of never giving up attitude I very much admire and also practiced myself over the past rough years. 💖 Believe it or not but it's actually rare to see someone as resilient as you these days. On a lighter note - Have fun during your next trip to Japan! 🙌 Always wanted to visit it myself but it will have to wait.

That's quite the compliment, to know I could have you smiling as you listened. That's really special to me! I seriously was a bit just like apprehensive cause I'm those types that may not always talk about my stuff to my co-workers, people around me, but when it comes to like unloading my interests with those I feel comfortable with?! Well... haha... that's how you end up with a near 3 hour solo-speaker podcast! 😇🎙✨ So I'm just really relieved you enjoyed it as you did and gave me that safe space to just talk about my things hehe! And gosh... I seriously just was running into brick walls when it came to vocabulary this time around haha! So thank you for being patient with me there 🤣

Thank you wholeheartedly for your comment and just all that you said about my journey despite it being a rough one. Yeah, life is usually talked about as if it passes in the blink of an eye, and while that may be true when you look back on it, but at the same time while you're living it it can feel quite long and arduous. So I can for sure say that the road to get to where I currently am was quite the tough one, but even so, I wouldn't have it any other way, because I was able to find myself through the journey... and what could be more important than that? 🥰 So thank you for your kind words and for saying that you admire my attitude! It just gives me more strength to keep on fighting, to keep on going no matter what obstacles come my way 😇 And oh, thank you for the Japan trip vibes! I've got like less than 150 days until then so I'm quite psyched to go! As it will be my second trip there I'll be sure to take lots of photos and also share them with you all when I get back! I'm traveling in November so it's not that far off! And hey, if you plan it out accordingly, you'll be able to go so too! 🗾

That's so true. No matter how hard the path is, it's what shapes you, it gives you experience, life lessons it makes you the person you are now. It's really astonishing how tough life and pressure turn people into lovely diamonds 💖💎 That's in a way encouraging by itself. 😊 Oh I used to travel a lot so I get that hype you feel now. It's like the entire person of yours is ready to change the scene. 🙌 I'm looking forward to the photos and stories from Japan. Second visits are... I don't want to say better but... You might feel like coming to a lovely place you missed so it's in a way more special than the first visit. ✨

I had to read Animal Farm in high school and I did not enjoy it ahaha, maybe I should give it another go now that I'm older. I haven't seen Titane, I'll definitely add it to my watchlist; I think a weird movie once in while is good for the soul ✨. I found an A24 dedicated list on letterboxd and slowly seeing the ones I'm missing. I watched "Waves" and "I Saw the TV Glow". "Waves" is kind of split into two parts, I found them both intense in different ways, it's definitely a movie that will stay with me for a while. "I Saw the TV Glow" was just so special, very nostalgic, kinda camp, and made me say "coool" out loud many times. I'll stop here to avoid spoilers and talking too much, but I really enjoyed both of them 🥰.

This was such a wonderful episode to listen to! And what a treat having such a long one, too— I ended up listening to it as I took care of some chores I needed to do, so thanks helping me pass the time! I actually read Animal Farm back in high school, though I haven’t gone back to it. Maybe I should? I wasn’t a huge fan of it at the time, but maybe I’ll like it now that I’ve matured a bit? And, that makes me curious— no need to answer if you don’t want to, but were there any books you read back in school (at any point of school, including pre- and post-secondary) that you felt had a profound impact on you, or that you really found yourself enjoying in particular? I know that when I read books in school, I often felt pretty neutral to them (even as someone that loved reading), but there were a couple that stood out— more specifically, The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, and The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood. It’s funny, actually, I wrote a lot of fanfiction for The Outsiders back in the day (but not the spicy kind!! 😆 it was more like, telling the story from another character’s perspective, or exploring what might’ve happened to the side characters while the main ones weren’t around, stuff like that!) And, just from one Nintendo fan to another— oh my GOD that Nintendo direct the other day!!!! 😭 I’m so excited for the new Zelda game!! And, though I’m not into Metroid, one of my best friends LOVES it, so I know they’ve gotta be super excited about the update on Metroid Prime 4’s development— as soon as I heard about it I knew their day must’ve been made LOL Again, this was a wonderful episode, I really enjoyed listening! And it’s a bit early, but enjoy that trip to Japan, I hope you have an awesome time!! It sounds like an amazing place to go, whether you’re into anime and video games or not 🌸

It would seem that the wide sentiment between people who read Animal Farm in school was that they didn't like, however, I do think it might be a case of getting hit with some really dark stuff real early in life. So definitely give it another shot and let me know what ya think! It's also such a quick read so I'd love to hear your thoughts! 📚 I also went ahead and added both "Waves" and" I Saw the TV Glow" to my watchlist since you, my friend, share quite the same taste as me when it comes to movies so I can't pass up on your recommendations! So thank you for continuing to feed me some good suggestions, and i'll be sure to report back and see what stuck with me! 😎

Great minds think alike! I can't resist recommending, so I'm glad I haven't bored you, yet at least 😂.

such a joy to know you could get your "to-do's" and chores done while listening to the latest episode! And yes, I do think that Animal Farm is just one of those books that once you grow up it just all clicks and is like, "woah... " Not to say the book itself is an enjoyable one as it's a cautionary tale but still a very powerful one! As for books I read in school that liked stuck with me? Back in middle school I wanna say we read The Giver and that has always played a big role in my life. When I saw they had made a movie I was completely floored with just how badly they handled it as it was nothing as how I imagined it. Apparently that book became part of a whole series overtime but back when I had read the first there was only the initial entry. I've heard a lot of Handmaid's Tale so I might give that one a shot, though it might be a hit a little too close to home with me and my experience haha Oh yes, I watched the Nintendo Direct as it was streaming and was floored with just how much was shown off and announced! I think I definitely wanna check out the new Mario & Luigi game as its been too long since I played one of those! And Metroid Prime 4 can't come soon enough! Still have such fond memories of the first game! Thank you lots for the well wishes on the Japan trip! I hope too that it ends up being a good one a I think having a good time is in order after having such a bumpy start to the year ✨
