Happy Father's Day to all the Pop's out there! 👔 (Patreon)

Wanted to take a quick moment to wish a lovely and happy father's day to all the amazing papa's out there who are doing their best -- whether you're a parent of a kid or a fur baby (which is me in my case haha 😾) ✹

It's sorta a conflicting holiday for me as my father and I had a bit of a difference of opinion for most of my life, even leading up to his death a few years back. It's still hard at times to really put into words how I feel about everything now that he's gone, especially since with time it tends to ebb and flow, but one thing I will always keep in my heart and know is that my dad tried his best. Sure, he grew up in a different time, put his kids under way too much stress than he ever should have ... but at the same time he did instill in me a strong and dedicated work ethic, a sense of responsibility towards others to care for them, and also to be there for people when they ask you for help.

Dude was pretty old-school... and when I say that I mean it in every way imaginable, but I think if I hadn't grown under his care I wouldn't have become the person I am today -- be it because of what he taught me or because there were so many times I just wanted to be the opposite of him. So I do appreciate his influence on me for the good and the bad.

In the end, people are people, they make mistakes, they are flawed and not always exactly what we need, but still... he was MY dad, and I still loved him and appreciated all he did for me and my family.

That being said, I also wanted to take the time to say thank you, thank you for all the personal messages I received! đŸ„° While I am the caretaker and father to a number of cats that I either consider my pets or my little buddies (Mikhail and I are on the same level), I do realize that I can put on a bit of a "Daddy" vibe as I care for my listeners and supporters (even if I waffle a bit between sub and dom haha) 😆 But I'm just glad that I could help create a place for you guys to enjoy and feel safe in. I mean, what's a Daddy besides someone you can feel takes charge and can care for you? I hope I embody that spirit well, so thank you for all the father's day messages that came in that context cause I thought it was playful and they made me laugh! 💕

Ngl, I shed a tear. I get it. Generations before us were raised differently but it doesn't mean they loved us any less. Just in a different way. I'm sure he'd be proud of the man you've become. Kind hearted, talented, hard working with strong principles. What you do shows love to those around you. You never have to say it, we all know and that's enough đŸ«‚ By the way, I'll be MORE than happy to go on my knees and call you Daddy but the job will be trying to get me back up again 😂 😂 xx

(My apologies, this got a bit long and rambly but it all felt important to say so I’ve just left it as is 😅) Tbh, I’d thought about cheekily wishing you a happy Father’s (ahem, Daddy’s) Day, but I wasn’t sure if that’d be received well or if it’d be a bit much đŸ«Ł but, knowing you’re okay with it now, well

 and partially in a cheeky “happy Father’s Day, Daddy 💖” type of way too đŸ€Ł) Days like today— Mother’s and Father’s Day alike —can really be kind of bittersweet. Because on one hand, being a parent is hard work, and anyone who can raise a child deserves to have their work recognized and celebrated! But at the same time, well
 a lot of parents don’t treat their kids quite the way they should, or even disown them for not conforming to their parents’ expectations. And I feel like Father’s Day especially has that weirdness with it for a lot of people because of toxic masculinity telling fathers to not be as emotionally present with their families as they really should be. So needless to say, I totally understand why you’d feel conflicted on it. It sounds like you really loved your dad, but that there was just certain aspects of either his character, your relationship, or both that had you keeping him at arm’s length, consciously or not. And, purely speaking from personal experience, I can understand how that can make you feel angry with him for being the way he is and not trying to change for the better or ever try seeing things from your perspective, guilty for said anger because you know he’s just trying the best with what he’s got, and even mournful of the relationship you COULD have had, had things worked out differently. It’s a weird feeling to sit with, and idk how much of that last bit resonates with you as like I said it was based on my own experience, but regardless, Father’s Day can certainly bring all sorts of conflicting feelings to the surface. And in your case, with your father being gone now, you’re forced to be left with no resolution, forced to accept it for what it is But for what it’s worth, I think you’ve grown to be a man he should be proud to have called his son. You’ve got such integrity, emotional maturity, and, of course, a refreshing gentleness in how you carry yourself and treat others. So I hope you’ve had a lovely Father’s Day, Gentle (or
