Whoopsie! I kinda went over time by getting real deep into some of these topics... hope y'all don't mind 😅

I've been trying to kinda whittle down the show to about 2 hours from the usual 3, but this go-around I totally missed the mark. What can I say? I've got a lot to say about some of these things, though... I do wish I woulda wrote some some notes for this episode in particular cause I think that woulda kept me focused and not jumping from wild tangent to another. Yeah, you'd think this far in I'd know what I'm doing, right? 😇

IrishBanshee 🕯️🪦

You're getting the whopping cough vaccine NOW?!! 😳 😳 We get ours as young kids. We still get the whopping cough but not as bad. Keep an eye on the tetanus shot. You're only allowed, I think 2 in a lifetime. Each one last 10 years. I've had my 2 already. Dog bites, cat scratches and my friends threatening me to drag me to get the shots were a big factor. With your specific monthly audios, would you consider Trans both for FtM and MtF?? Or even a Bi theme?? *we'll just skip over your disastrous analogy regarding this month's one haha* Looking forward to hearing the new one in March. Side note: actually glad to know the crackling on Ash's podcast wasn't just me. I thought my connection was fucked. She's really good though, she asks the right questions. She's so easy to talk to. I can relate to you with the religious upbringing plus the culture aspect. Being Irish, Catholic Irish is a different level esp regarding sex. Single Moms are still looked down upon. Kids born out of wedlock aren't covered by our constitution. So God forbid you get pregnant, it kinda puts you off sex tbh. If you're a woman independent, in control of your own life, you're a threat to other women. They watch their husbands, protect their sons like you're some demonic sexual being. As for your audios - get out of your head!!!! We don't care if you use a food blender, a gas mask, a hose & you're pulling yourself across the room.... Just enjoy the feeling and go with the flow. We'll help you with the process in any way we can. Yeah.... I'd want the same answer from God too 🥺🫂 The way you're describing your food, I STILL do that. Got to keep the nicest thing for last to enjoy the flavour for longer 😂 😂

Edit: I am WICKED Sorry. I was just writing responses as I was listening at work and I had no idea this ended up being so long. Please feel free to ignore my rambling, haha. Oh my gosh, I feel that very much at the very start "you don't know what you don't know." MAN. I feel that every time I go to stream or record something through Audacity and with my various add-ons there. Side note regarding vaccines: you are good for staying on top of tetanus. It's rare in the US, but the cases that are reported are from people who aren't, or didn't stay on top of, their vaccines. You get tetanus from getting a cut or something and the bacteria getting in. The bacteria is basically everywhere (but esp rusty things) and can survive for years. It's quite hardy. BUT. Easy to prevent due to vaccines. So kudos! even if the vaccine site can be sore. I love your new series and I think you're doing a good job so far. Are you thinking of doing any enby/non-binary audios? With disabilities it can be quite hard, especially because you have visible disabilities and invisible disabilities (speaking someone with invisible disability). And the way they are described or affect life can be vastly different. I'm excited for the audio to know the direction you took it! Ahh, I'm wicked happy you watched Drive My Car! I adore that movie to a high degree. The cinematography was just deeply soul-touching to me as well as the message of moving on from guilty and tragedy and finally confronting that. I remember leaving the small indie theatre and having my mind turn over the sounds and scenes and images for days after. You mentioning Murakami and loving the idea of someone reminds me a bit of the idea of the manic pixie dream girl. You getting excited over one of the scenes is absolutely adorable, but listening again - I was able to close my eyes and know exactly where we were in the movie. I'm glad you also felt a familial bond between Yusuke and Misaki. Hnnng, I love this movie. New book added to my index cards to read! That's why my best friend and I have been together since we were 15. We balance each other and understand each other perfectly. I am harder on the inside, but appearance-wise, I am a short female who people assume would be emotional, innocent, gentle, etc. My best friend is a big man who grew up with machismo, but is a giant softie. I don't get a lot of social interaction things because I was, jokingly, a feral child growing up without a lot of people around. We joke that he cries my tears for me and I problem-solve everything quickly when things arise for him. Or give him a listening ear as he expresses himself. I call him immediately after something happens to ask him what the heck was going on socially since I was lost. I feel badly for a lot of these dudes who don't feel comfortable opening up. Or who don't have good friends that they are comfortable being authentic around. I, especially, feel bad for guys who don't have guy friends who can do both - talk sports and games and mess around while also being able to have deeper conversations.
