haha this brings back memories - the day I went for a job interview for yard manager on a huge country estate, and the job came with a lovely grade II listed flat on site above the stables, so I was taken up there to view my new home once I was told I'd got the job. The outgoing yard manager who was retiring still had her stuff up there, packing up to move, and when we got to the spare room, my new boss was a little embarrassed and waved at a load of demijohns with liquid distilling in them (or however you do that stuff) and said "I just want you to know, we're not a pair of old lushes or anything, we were just making sloe gin because there were so many berries this year, and this was as good a place to store it all as any."
