Here we go!!! Oil painting is a challenging craft to master and no other single project combines the skill you will need to master in a more simple and beginner friendly package than sphere painting.

Materials are described in the 1st part of the video.

By the way: Vimeo, my video hosting platform, has lately had some issues displaying videos across various devices (particularly ipads). I've completed this project; what do you suggest now, making the flesh tone sphere or other studies in grisaille? Which lesson is the natural continuation of this project?

Ok thanks! Just for reference, I've studied for 5 years in an atelier where I learned classical drawing (essentialy drawing lots of still lives from life and then some cast drawings), now I would like to make the crucial transition to oil painting, just as in the traditional curriculum. So which excercise do you recommend now? The cast painting you cover in your lessons? Or some simpler subjects, maybe monochrome still lives in grisaille, painted from life?
