As someone who loves a good side hobby, I wanted to create a mini mod that allows your Sims to have their own! PlumbPod Podcasts allows your Sim to have a mini podcast hobby, all the while making some simoleons on the side. Your Sim will also have the opportunity to gain fame!

Accessing Podcast Interactions:

You can find the general Podcast, pie menu on any computer. This is where all of the general interactions will be.  When you open this pie menu, you will find three other menus that allow you to register your podcast, choose your podcast type, and access other podcast interactions.

 Registering Your Podcast:

You will have the option to choose two (2) podcast subscriptions. Basic Subscription (§20) or the Premium Subscription (§50) if you want your Sim to spend an extra few Simoleons. Note: These subscriptions are simply for gameplay features and will not impact your ability to create podcasts!

Choosing a Podcast Type:

Your Sim will have the opportunity to choose from twelve (12) podcast types. This includes:• Beauty Podcaster• Movie Podcaster• Conspiracy Theorist Podcaster• Health and Wellness Podcaster+ more

 Your Sim will receive a trait after they choose their preferred podcast type. The good news is that your Sim can choose as many podcast types as they like. (i.e. You can be a beauty and lifestyle podcaster!) See a few examples below:

Hosting a Podcast:

There are THREE (3) ways your Sim can host a podcast:

• A Computer• The Camera and tripod (if you own the Moschino Stuff Pack)• The Stationary Cameras (comes with the Get Famous Expansion Pack)If you use the stationary cameras for your podcast, your Sim will need to STAND. However, if you use the tripod camera from the Moschino pack, your Sim will be able to sit.  ALSO, if your Sim uses the computer to host a podcast, they can sit ANYWHERE, even if it's not in the same room as the computer. (the sofa, the floor, a chair, even outside)Your Sim will take approximately 30mins - 1 hour to record the podcast. Afterwards, they will receive a random custom buff.

Paid Podcasts:PlumbPod will pay your Sim §1000 for every podcast they upload. However, your Sim can only do this ONCE a day. Your Sim will also gain fame each time they upload a podcast episode.Podcast Interactions:

I also created a few interactions in the case that your Sim wants to invite another Sim onto their podcast. Yes, your Sim will still be able to host their podcast and complete these interactions simultaneously! Once you click on the Sim, you will see the Podcast Interactions pie menu.

Under this pie menu, you can find the Host Interactions. NOTE: Your Sim will need to register for a podcast first before they can access this. A few of these interactions come with custom buffs and notifications, but NOT all.

NOTE:  These interactions work better when your Sim host their podcasts on the tripod camera. It can still technically work on the stationary cameras, but NOT on the computer.

hey , i don’t have the option to start the podcast or anything when i clicked a computer. i used a cc & non cc one as well, doesn’t show up on the menu. but i get stuff about podcast when i click on another sim.

I know this is a mini-mod, but I had a burst of inspiration. What if the podcasts success scaled off a Sim's Charisma skill? Potentially more money and followers based on that skill. I also had the idea to integrate more skills, but that could add pack requirements like Research and Debate from DU for Conspiracy Theorists and True Crimers or Logic for a BGC/lacking-pack fallback. I can see so much potential.

Hi! This is such a cute mod, thank you for making it. I'm having an issue where I can't host podcasts on computer nor infront of my tripod. I can upload my podcast (that I didn't make lol), and I get the simoleans for it, but no host option. :( I updatted my XML injector.. so I'm not sure what's wrong.

Hi, hun then this may mean there is a conflict of sorts in your mods folder. Try deleting the mod, and reinstalling, but if that doesn't work then you might have to do the 50/50 method to find what is conflicting.

Hey, absolutely love this mod! Even made a cafe with a stage where i film the podcast. But just wondering if when i want to stop the podcast, do i just stop filming and uploading or is there a way to delete the podcast and thereby the trait?

just curious if you have considered for this mod making it so the interactions for the podcast don't show until you start a podcast. Also making the interactions lead into each other to improve the quality. I am thinking something like Adeepindigos writing overhaul. so that writing a script increases liklihood of good buff something like that. Just struck me as odd that even without "creating a podcast" or filming an episode i can jump straight into uploading an episode. as is its just a click and waiting each day to make 1 k. also would be cool if instead of a base rate it was royalties based on how good the episode was. Just some ideas i was thinking about while playing with it. It really is a great addition to my current character because it gives him options to increase fame.

I'd love an interaction for Sims to be able to listen to podcasts on stereos/headphones and gain skills from it - maybe randomized skills, maybe specific skills. That being said, this mod is already fantastic.

Hey, all. When I added the updated files to my game, it was still broken. I realized that in my excitement, I didn't actually delete the old files. Windows (and Macs) usually overwrites when new versions of a file are added to a folder, but some of the updated mods have fewer files than the older ones. For example, the reality show mod has three files now instead of four. Once I deleted the old version with 4 files and added the updated one with three, it worked. Hope this helps some of the people who say they're still broken. :)

Hi, I'm seeing a few comments asking or saying this mod is broken. This mod is compatible with the latest game update/patch. If you are having issues, consider whether: You've deleted the old versions of the mod ENTIRELY. Delete first THEN replace. Do not just drag and overwrite. Delete your localthumbcache (PLEASE), repair your game if needed, make sure you have the requirements, (an updated XML Injector) and also understand that even if you've done everything right, yes there can still be bugs/issues on EA's end that are out of my control. Better Exceptions and MCC are wonderful tools they are not the end all be all. There can be issues that are unrelated, (and sometimes due to load order, that claim certain mods are the issue when they are not.) Also please ensure you're practicing good mod management.

Hi there, I haven't been able to get this to work with the camera and tripod from the Moschino kit (no host podcast option when clicked), works fine from a computer. Any ideas? Thx!
