I got an email the other day that said all users who purchase a membership through the Patreon iOS app pay 30% App Store tax. Well, I know the unenviable fate of users of Apple products. And I wondered if there are many such people among my subscribers. I'm taking this poll purely out of curiosity. Do you log into Patreon through the Apple app?

I also pay my subscriptions through Patreon, not Apple.

It was referring to the Patreon app in the App Store, where there is a 30% raise on all purchases. However, since the ability to pay for memberships and other purchases without the mediation of the App Store is present, I don't understand why anyone would even go to the Patreon app in the App Store. So I decided to conduct a poll.

As far as I'm aware, the 30% extra is only if you pay for anything on the Patreon app on IOS. If you access Patreon on a browser on IOS instead of the app, you can avoid paying more. This extra tax exclusively applies to paying for things on the IOS version of the Patreon app, not the Android, not on PC and not anywhere else.
