I’ve just finished rewriting the game’s script, making sure to include a list of everything that will be important for future development: tutorials, achievements, the number of interactive objects and items in the inventory on each level, the number of levels themselves, lists of tasks (including optional ones), a list of NPCs the player might encounter, and so on. I won’t, as usual, write pages and pages of text, but will just mention a few interesting figures.

Number of levels: 8 (including Prologue and Epilogue)

The goal of each level is to complete all the tasks that the sisters meticulously write in their Diary (which is an integral part of the gameplay). Tasks may be updated or broken down into subtasks, and from time to time, the sisters will come up with optional tasks for themselves. These are meant to entertain the player a bit more, reveal more of the universe’s lore, and, of course, earn an achievement.

All levels take place within a single day. For example, the Prologue takes place on Sunday evening, the first level on Monday, the second on Tuesday, and so on. In total, the player will spend a full gaming week in the game.

Number of unique mini-locations that make up the levels: 19 (some of them are on my ArtStation)

As you know, the game features a wide variety of locations. I’m surprised myself that they turned out this way. And I’m glad my game won’t be limited to a single theme.

Some mini-locations will appear more than once; for example, the sisters’ house or the yard in front of it appear in almost every level, and each time they’ll differ in small details (and sometimes even in more than just small details).

Number of characters: 29 (including 24 nymphaids, 4 humans, and 1 robot)

Characters are those with whom the player can interact directly and engage in dialogue. This statistic does not include animals and robots, which are not considered full-fledged characters - for example, pigeons, cats, dogs, or robot vacuum cleaners. However, they do have skeletons and animations.

You already know some of these characters - Faeena Shay and Varvara Shay (the game’s main heroines), as well as Aurora Moray, Elizabeth Moray, Dunyashka Shay, Violetta Moray... There will be children, teenagers, adults, humans, dryads, fauns, and satyresses. Many characters will appear across multiple levels, and all of them play a significant role in the story. There will be no filler characters included just to fill space.

Each character will have at least one emotional portrait that appears in dialogues. Naturally, the sisters will be the most expressive: they will have portraits showing neutral emotions, thoughtfulness, joy, doubt, laughter, rage, and so on.

Number of items in Faeena and Varvara's inventories: 139.

All in all, I’ll need to draw 139 icons for all these items, which will eventually end up in the sisters’ inventory.

Most of the objects will also have a 3D model that will be placed in the environments and featured in animations and cutscenes.

You know that moment in quests when it’s unclear where the player’s character hides all the items they find, whether it’s a tiny pebble or a massive folding ladder? Well, I have an explanation for that: Faeena, Varvara, and any nymphaids (and Aurora, too) have a magical storage space where they teleport all the items they find, and when necessary, they teleport them back to the real world - often right into their own hands.

Number of achievements: 15 (this number may change if I come up with something else)

Some of these achievements are unlocked automatically as you progress through the story. Others are tied to the difficulty level, which you can set when starting a new game. And some can be skipped, you don’t have to collect collectibles, explore every object in locations, or complete optional side quests. There won’t be any cruel achievements designed to make players suffer. All achievements are quite simple.

Of course, each achievement will need to be accompanied by an icon, a title, and a description.

Number of collectibles: 13 (portraits of particularly memorable characters)

Players will be able to collect items to fill the gallery in the main menu and earn achievements. I will, of course, be the one drawing all the portraits, but in the game they will be credited to Helga, the roe dryad. She possesses not only artistic talent, but also a knack for losing her portraits in the most unexpected places.

Number of mini-games: 5.

Mini-games are activities that differ from the standard gameplay. In standard gameplay, the player explores locations on the map, finds items, combines them, or uses them on other objects or NPCs, and solves tasks from the Diary. In mini-games, however, players are invited to take a break and solve puzzles. Four out of five mini-games appear on Saturday, the entire Saturday level will consist of solving puzzles.

That's all!
