For a transformation commission!
It was coming on for three days now, and nobody had heard from Garnet, Amethyst or Pearl.
This wasn’t particularly new - the gems were often called away on Crystal Gem business on short notice, and could be away for days at a time. But usually there was warning, and time to set up substitutes for Little Homeschool’s classes. This time, there was nothing; they were here today and gone tomorrow, and nobody knew at all where they had gone.
Bismuth had immediately snapped into action, calling up a search party - and while Connie’s parents hadn’t exactly been thrilled at her running back to Little Homeworld from college to help, she was an adult now and they could hardly stop her. She was thus gathered in Bismuth’s forge with Lapis, Peridot and a few other gems, listening to Bismuth give them their briefing.
“Listen up, Crystal Gems,” she said. “Last person who saw the gems was Greg, and he says they were headed to Little Homeworld. Since then, nothing. According to Greg, the Temple’s empty, and nobody in Beach City’s seen them - they could be just about anywhere.”
A few of the gems exchanged worried whispers.
“But we can narrow the search area down,” added Bismuth. “Peridot can trace warp signatures with her tech, and she’s checked all of ‘em around Beach City - they haven’t used ‘em. So they have to be somewhere in this region.”
“Or they’re shattered.”
Connie glared towards the door. Jasper was leaning against the wall, face set into a frown.
