So I play professional basketball and have for the past 12 years (all in Europe). Her's the thing about basketball, it's always about match-ups. Some teams just don't match up well with others. And because of that it's always difficult to answer hypotheticals like this. For anyone that's played basketball, you know that 2 on 2 half court is a very different game than 5 on 5 full court. With all that being said, in a 2 on 2 tournament, you'd have to give the edge to Kobe and Shaq. Aside from Jordan, Kobe has the best chance to guard anyone on this list that he'd match up with and Shaq would shoot the highest percentage (or be the hardest person to stop) of the people he'd match up with. Sidenote: I'd pay a lot of money to see Steph and KD vs MJ and Pippen.

MJ would because he's an ego addict, i dont think people understand how far MJ would go if he was in the same play time as a lebron. Since he never faced anyone like lebron, he did not have to adapt to lebrons level of greatness. if i had to take each at their actual peak though: step's duo and lebrons duo are right up there though, although for the matchup i would pick steph and KD since KD is an absolute offence killer and steph basically plays QB with a basketball

I want to throw in what rules are we playing? Today's rules with no hand checking? 90's rules? 80's rules? Make it take it? Etc. I think the answer depends on that. I think the answer is between Kobe & Shaq or Magic & Kareem. Like who's stopping Shaq down low? Can Shaq stop the highest scoring player (Kareem) in NBA history? Btw Kareem is left out of the GOAT talk too much. He has just as many titles as MJ, scored more points, has the same amount of league MVPs, either the same or one less Finals MVPs, literally had the dunk eliminated from college because he was that dominate, still holds the longest win streak in college history (Men's), etc. Like if he's not the GOAT, he's right there. Kobe and Lebron did not pass him, in my opinion supported by stats. But if it's today's rules, you have to throw in Steph and KD because 3's are more than 2's. It just changes the whole dimensions of the game. What big man is coming out to the 3 point line to guard KD? Who's running with Steph because you know his motor doesn't stop and he's running the whole time they're on offense. MJ and Pippen get a honorable mention because of MJ.

Bron and dwade. If Lebron can get shaq to miss a few easy buckets in the post then they would win. Wade is a great offensive player that would be guarded by kobe, a great defensive player. Shaq and bron would be the key match up. I think that once Wade and Bron touch the ball, its over. Shaq would be a defensive liability. The same way he would get exposed in the pick & roll defense for his whole career, would be the same way Wade and Bron would have shaq on the perimeter.
