i was eagerly awaiting your next aos reaction and it was dope as usual! so much fun to watch. i'm not sure if it was clear or not by the end, but jemma's intense reactions to the sounds and stuff are just due to her body being used to a different planet and everything. they talk a bit about how out of wack her systems are at the beginning of the ep. she acclimated to the other planet and now that she's suddenly back she has to readjust. that's why even tiny sounds seemed very loud to her. i really appreciate how compassionate you are and the empathy you have for the characters. im protective of the characters i care about so when people judge them for being upset or something it drives me nuts. i really like lincoln. i think he's a sweetheart and this episode makes me feel for him a lot. a lot of people miss this detail because they aren't familiar with the concept but john was lincoln's sponsor. it's a part of AA. a sponsor is someone who's been in recovery for usually at least a year and kind of takes you under their wing. they help you navigate AA, answer questions, offer accountability, and act as a confidant who understands what you're going through. that's why when he picked lincoln up he asked if he'd been drinking and lincoln said he wanted to, but instead he called him. it also makes sense that john would be who he's called in the past to talk him down when he was feeling suicidal (john's line about how he didn't call him to talk him off a ledge this time). alcohol is a depressant and the lowered inhibitions can make you especially dangerous to yourself. your sponsor can be a very integral part of recovery and you'd definitely form a close bond. it must be awful to feel like he killed someone who meant so much to him and he was so grateful to. he seemed to use more power on the atcu guys he knocked back than the baseball bat john had and they all got up fine, so im guessing there were underlying issues at play. the bat was metal and electricity transfers, but even so it was a pretty weak shot. given that john is also an alcoholic it's very likely that he had some health issues. long term alcohol abuse can damage your brain, liver, heart, pancreas, kidneys and stomach. "Long-term, heavy drinking is a leading cause of heart disease. Alcohol also contributes to cardiomyopathy (which is the stretching of the heart muscle), arrhythmias, stroke and high blood pressure." -- https://www.addictioncampuses.com/alcohol/long-term-effects/ the stress alone, but especially with an added shock, could have easily caused john to have a heart attack. it's even entirely possible he had a pacemaker that got shorted out by lincoln's electricity. it's probably possible that someone of better health and less risk to heart problems would have died, but i think it's likely that john was unfortunately more vulnerable. lincoln may be technically responsible but it was an accident. the guy's a doctor. he doesn't want to hurt people and he definitely didn't want to hurt his friend. i hate that when daisy finally got through to him he had to run again. but i certainly wouldn't go with the people who've been hunting me like an animal and made my face famous as a killer when i hadn't even hurt anyone either so i don't blame him. after everything that happened with jiaying and gordon and afterlife plus now this, dude has gotta be rocking some serious trust issues. speaking of which, embedding a tracker under his skin was so not cool. wouldn't win them any points in my trust book if i were him lol. it shocked the hell out of me that the guy hunter fought died as well. i mean, i know he had brass knuckles on but he only hit the guy three times whereas he was still standing after having the snot beaten out of him. i don't think poor hunter was expecting or prepared for that either. also, this episode makes him look so tiny compared to all those other guys! all in all i really like this ep. can't wait for the next one (-:
