It’s real (‘our’ Sunnydale) the last scene takes place before Buffy takes the antidote. It’s a tease. 💜

This episode messed with our minds just as much as it messed with Buffy's mind!

Such an underrated episode! And I LOVED how Joyce (in a sense) was the one to finally help her start overcoming this depression she's had all season trying to return to her old life. Finally got to say goodbye to her mum too 😭 x

I guess I was on the wrong tier, because I upgraded and there was a whole lot of them. LOL Oh well, I'm here now, and now I get to binge, so yay! There are a lot of theories about that last scene, and the asylum scenes in general. One of them, the one I've always believed, is that both realities exist. That final scene is of another Buffy in a universe where she is still in the institution and people think she's delusional. The disturbing idea behind that is that, if that's correct, by making the choice that our Buffy did, she condemned a real girl, who is really a slayer, to a life in a mental institution where no one believes her, and now she's catatonic. The institution thing is like another universe, like the Wishverse. where Willow and Xander are vampires. *Shudder* There is an even worse theory, though. That the institution universe is the real one, and the Buffy we know, is the delusion. Pretty wild, right? This episode is such a mind-fuck, and I love it. Thrilled to be seeing your reactions again. And to one of the hardest to watch seasons of Buffy. Missed you, buddy!
