Such a great episode, one of the many of season 5. Its meant to be a bit confusing as it’s using nonlinear storytelling and I think we’re meant to put ourselves in the perspective of Robin who sees events out of order. You might have missed some details as the subtitles were blocking some things. In the first flashback with little Robin on the Zephyr, it says that the year was 2018, and they were flying in a gravity storm. Then, when they’re discussing the machine with Jemma and Fitz, it says the year is 2022. This episode also is really beautiful in the way that it brings Mays story full circle in a way, since she learns that she became a mom to Robin. After being traumatized by killing an inhuman girl in Bahrain and the guilt not letting her have children of her own with Andrew etc, she sees here that she is capable of being that loving mom she had once wanted to be, ironically to another inhuman girl. This is even manifested visually when Coulson is watching May holding a dying Robin, the same position as when she was holding the dead Katya in her arms in Bahrain.
