...It is only upon Chris saying that the episode originally aired fifteen years ago that I realize I may have been listening to the two of you for roughly half my life.

Oh, they sound so young!

I would absolutely love an occasional throwback ep to the golden lovecraft oldies. While I’m guessing you guys would want to do the single-story episodes, I actually wouldn’t mind a COC/ATMOM/SOI/TRITW/TDH re-listens. Those certainly have many of my favorite lines of all eps. Of the last two Chad’s ”and the cat voguing on a mountain of bones” and Ken’s “What’s them things there on your feet…shoes?” Still make me chuckle. So yes please. Do-overs. But the most remarkable thing about listening to this from way back when is who is that other guy beside Chad? Why it’s pre-England Chris. Wow. How 15 years in a far-flung foreign land can change a guy’s vowels. As someone who has completely lost the ability to say “Z” or write the date American style, I can relate.

I forgot how much more was read by the readers back then. And with the language of lovecraft and just listening to it without reading it, you’re just like “ok good now they are gonna explain whatever the hell Andrew just said” Andrew was such a good reader tho it didn’t even matter because he is just great to listen too.

Ryan Fahey

Yes, we need golden oldies. And yes, we need theme songs.

So this was the first podcast where I decided to save every dang episode so I could listen to them ad infinitum (I am up to House on the Borderlands on my current revist - how is Tony Lopez these days?), so *I* don't really need you to rerelease old episodes. But I'm sure less obsessive listeners will appreciate reposts of classic content. The nice thing is that I can make new comments about one of my favorite Lovecraft stories. "Picture" is really one of his best, just the mood and the language and the two characters and the book all come together so perfectly. I love the little clues Lovecraft includes as the story/threat builds "got it from him in '68, he that died in the war" and like what war did America fight after 1868 and before 1896 and the answer is NONE this dude is talking about the American Revolution and he's eerily old. It's so good!

What an enjoyable blast from the past. I was definitely listening at this point, as I quite remember some of the points made, including feeling guilty about referring back to the CoC rpg. Hearing baby Chad and Andrew and the aggressive use of the soundboard was a treat. Have you ever considered a revisiting of select Lovecraft stories, now that you have 15+ years experience under your belts?

I also vote for airing the occasional classic show! "The Picture in the House" was a great choice and a perennial favorite for me. Despite its lack of what we typically think of as "Lovecraftian" horrors, the simple plot is rock-solid and the character development is absolutely phenomenal. The story has always given me the feeling that it's the progenitor of the "blood-dripping-from-the-ceiling" trope, but of course, people have been dying messily in upstairs rooms for a very, very long time. I once played Andrew Leman's full reading to a group of non-horror-oriented friends who had all traveled to Nashville for the 2017 solar eclipse. Our B&B had a room with just the right cluttered, archaic atmosphere to evoke the Old Man's pre-Revolutionary sitting room, and with the lights down low, I think some Lovecraft converts were made. Pound for pound (ulp), 10/10.

I enjoyed this classic episode a lot! I've only listened to these early episodes once, quite a long time ago now. It's delicious to look back at one of them. I ate it up!

I am eager to try out Trail of Cthulhu some day and will likely back this project (also because I listen to Ken and Robin all the time and they've been brainwashing me). I have the first edition but we just haven't fit it into our intermittent, oops-all-academics gamer schedule. But every time one of our investigators in Masks of Nyarlathotep derails the plot with a failed Spot Hidden roll or something, I think about what the scene would be like in the GUMSHOE system. Speaking of old episodes, my Monster Lit students are reading "The Call of Cthulhu" for tomorrow and so I did my annual re-listen to those episodes yesterday. For the first time (somehow) I was struck by the oddness of the general public showing up at an academic conference with their own questions. I'm trying to imagine what that would be like in my own field(*). A waiting room full of people wanting Latin translations for their tattoos? Help deciphering the spells in "Agatha All Along"? Urgent questions from a police inspector about Tacitus' portrayal of the emperor Nero? --- (*) The one my degree is in, if not necessarily the ones I find myself teaching in.

Can we get Andrew’s reading of the poem, Festival, from episode 22 - The Other Gods, added to the feed in a stand alone manner? It would creep up the holidays most deliciously

I remember listening to this one the first time around. Listen to those wee baby podcasters!

Yes!!! Keep up the classics! I love it so much! I can't wait for the Theme Songs! I'm sure they will be Terrible! (Complementary!)

You guys sound so young! Man what a blast from the past. Makes me want to go back and relisten to all of them again! Good old cleansing bolt of lightning.

Even Chad's old man impression sounds young
