Loving this jock Necroscope fan bit! Mostly because of Chad’s perfect Vinnie Barbarino impression. It really gives a whole new meaning to Welcoming Back Kotter!

Drasferatu

DC vs Vampires is pretty good.

Jon Maness

In regard to not touching up old shows: So no episode where Chad shoots first?!?

Micah Champion

Just heard the shoutout—thank you so much, Chad and Chris! Hearing the 'Do it people' endorsement absolutely made my week! Also, Chris, your joke about getting Paul Giamatti in The Colossus had me laughing out loud. He would be great! Dare, Chad! Dare! Keep up the amazing work, guys; this show is the absolute best soundtrack for the studio.

Rick Hound

Even dandilo groaned at that Mö(r)bius comic joke

Evil Dandelo, noooo! Also, I love your old shows. I started listening during the original run of HPL stories and it takes me back to a very different time, and i appreciate it. And you were both already doing great commentary by the time “Shunned House” came out.

I've listened to all the Lovecraft shows twice, some even three times. While they definitely aren't as good audio quality as the show is today, I honestly don't mind. Once you listen to it for a few minutes you get used to how it sounds and it just becomes a non issue. So I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I'm still working on the third Necroscope book. I honestly had to take a break for a while because this one just gets really out there immediately. Feels like my brain has turned into laffy taffy

Wait wait wait wait wait! Austin Powers with Dave Gahan? I was so delighted by Creepin’ and Peepin’ that I made my wife (who was clueless on context) listen to it but forgot to comment to share my delight. HOWEVER, I can’t pass up this Dave Gahan watching Austin Powers with you thing, Chad. Please divulge (if you’re feeling horny, baby?).

Don't worry Chad, NO ONE likes Morbius the Living Vampire. That's one of the reasons that movie bombed so badly. I will say that the 90s Spider-Man cartoon, in trying to keep standards & practices happy and not be too scary having a "vampire" bite people's necks and drink blood, ended up with a far weirder and scarier version of Morbius instead. He had suckers on his hands that drained his victim's "life force" which is a lot more EWWW than the ol' neck biting. But yeah, comics. I myself have never read Tomb of Dracula, you guys should think about doing a bonus ep about it.

I go through the back catalogue fairly regularly; this is one of a handful of podcasts whose every episode I save to listen to repeatedly. Going back to the original eps brings back a lot of sense memory, of when and where I was when I listened to them the first time. Its very comforting to revisit them, in all honesty.

Any time the Dandelo audio is used is a fantastic treat... But now I'm going to be worried, was that Evil Dandelo?!

Ghost Disco

More Anne Rice please!!! At least Interview With The Vampire and The Vampire Lestat. And maybe The Witching Hour. Nobody talks about all the incest in Anne Rice, they just talk about the gay stuff. I think it's kind of weird.

REO Jackwagon

As with both of you, I sometimes treat this show like some people treated Seinfeld, relistening as easy comfort media as opposed to something more academic or challenging. I have to say that one thing that really made this so pleasantly familiar is that the production quality from the jump is so much better than so many.

Regarding Brendan Gardner's story about the friend beneath the ice and the intensity of dread when a thinking being faces the horror of that deadly situation; I am reminded of screaming rabbits. You see, rabbits can and do scream, but it is very uncommon to hear it, even where rabbits as prey animals are as common as potato chips. It is very rare that these animals, some time between feeling the teeth or talons of thier doom upon them and the cessation of thier processes, will emit a sound somewhere between a tiny woman's scream or a shrill whistle. Why? How rare is the intensity of that fear that most of us have never heard it? I am reminded of too many things. Prey animals of Africa being fed on as thier eyes roll and thier mouths convulse for up to an hour. Animals maimed in traffic that try to rise with flattened hindquarters only to be hit again and again. I've seen terrible things, friends, and I'm not sure that the mortal fear of the human is any more special than that of any other mammal in the throes, often slow, of a horrible, inescapable experience. It may even be less so.

Great show, thanks guys. I do need to make a very early recommendation for next year’s March Is For Draculas: you both need, Need, NEED to track down 1985’s Mr. Vampire! It’s the original Honk Kong jiangshi (hopping vampire) movie and it’s an absolute hoot. You’ve got the titular hopping vampires, ghosts, resigned Taoist monk, and buffoonish assistants. Well worth your time. I believe there’s even a version of it on YouTube, last time I checked. Keep up the great work, brothers!
