Miss Peggy NEVER said my name on Romper Room. Not once.

Elisheba

I am so excited to hear you will be covering Mad God!

Steve

When she said names on Romper Room, my brother and I hid behind the sofa so if she called out our names and said she could see us, we shouted back, "No you can't!"

Judging from the new topic headers, maybe we’re heading for a crossover where you have to fight my other favourite podcast, The Faculty of Horror.

Adequately Excellent Entertainment

Need a T-shirt with line drawings of Chad and Chris smiling pleasantly with the words “Horror Daddies” underneath. Somebody get on that please.

I'm really glad that you're keeping the HP Podcraft scream for the new era. After all those years spent listening to the podcast, hearing it feels like putting on a pair of comfy slippers. ...and sure, those particular slippers do scream in shock and anguish whenever we put them on, but just adds to their charm ;)

Sweatin' to the Great Oldies

Now I'm feeling the pressure. A comment? Sure. No problem. Just a little something off the cuff, you know? A little whimsy, perhaps. An aside. Muttered assent or shock. That I can handle. But feedback? Geez. Something, maybe, illuminating? Constructive? Thoughtful? I'll give it a go, gents. Unless... Surely you're not just looking for horrible screeching microphone noises, right? Because, well, because that wouldn't make much sense. But I'm pretty sure I could do that for you. Just let me know.

Anytime people mention C.H.U.D. I have to pipe up and urge everyone to rewatch it with the commentary track on, it’s brilliant. Daniel Stern is hilarious. It’s the best commentary track since Spinal Tap.

Chad’s comment about Chris’s bus kidnapping—“Yeah, that’s no good when a second adult gets frightened”—made me snort water down the wrong pipe. In crisis situations, we all do our best to act like the adults that we’re supposed to be, but if one of us reveals a crack in their armor, the whole facade of control can collapse like a bunch of broccoli. We do *not* like to be reminded that other people also feel like they’re still 19 years old inside their skulls. It reminds me of a 1985 Jack Ziegler cartoon from the New Yorker: a well-dressed man at a black tie gala walks into a room with other similarly attired party-goers. Thought bubble over his head reads: “Yipes! Grown-ups!!”

💯 Chris you were my intro into Kate Bush! It was a very amusing and confusing experience when I listened to the Wuthering Heights finale when it came out. So thank you!
