This is fortuitous! I have time to kill before work and I just walked out of Goodwill with a hardback of one of Charles Stross' Laundry Files novels.

First off, much thanks to The King of All Snakes for suggesting this. I was thinking about suggesting this when you guys announced this episode. Second, thanks to you guys (& Dennis) for going with it! It was a fun listen, and I immediately went to the video to see the interaction!

Love delta green, game and fiction! And love to see you covering it on extra credit! The readings done years ago for Tales From Failed Anatomies are something I regularly return to to listen, wish there was more audio like that (hint hint), I'd pay good money for it.

Sounds absolutely abysmal in the best way possible. Cannot wait to try and convince my friends to play this. The bleakness sounds like such a “fun?” Change of pace from Our usual games I still disagree that Pickmans models adaptation was bad tho and I’ll die on that hill. I thought it was fantastic. Dreams of the witch house should never be viewed by anyone however. Idk how that got approved

Wonderful conversation. Delta Green is one of my favorite RPGs for many of the reasons Dennis listed. And Impossible Landscapes is a marvel - possibly one of the best RPG campaigns ever (I've only run the first full scenario, so still holding out final judgement - but it certainly reads well)

The King Of All The Snakes

I'm so happy that they went with this suggestion! It certainly fills that sanity absorbing void that is Delta Green and getting Dennis on to boot? Nom nom nom. I could have sworn it would have been covered by now, but it's better late then never! Thanks you guys! Now I'm ready for your next bonus episode on Donkey Kong. ^_^ A quick explination of what DG meant to me to pass the time: My first introduction to HP and that universe was my brother reading Call of Cthulhu to me in bed when I was around 10 (in the 90's). Fun bedtime story, I know! This is also the brother that would trick my Mom into renting Watership Down at Blockbuster because it had a bunny on the cover. That one gave more nightmares then Cthulhu ever did... Anywho, he'd eventually lead me to his shelf of Delta Green books and I was hooked. It was so interesting having the reverse HPL experience where I read DG first before delving into the source material. I have to say that the DG story Once More From The Top gave me such a great introspective when I finally got to Shadows Over Innsmouth and then the Shoggoth in Mountains of Madness. That only added to my overall HPL experience and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

This was great, keen to hear more about horror themed RPGs

Irrelevant to this particular awesome episode, I want to let you know our 2-year-old heard the beginning of your podcast because it came on automatically when I turned on our car audio while picking her up from daycare. I tried to switch to something else but she insisted “want strange stories! More strange stories!” So after digging around for the least unsuitable episode I let her listen to you the whole ride home from daycare. She even resisted me trying to change it 10 minutes in! When I got home however I discovered she had fallen asleep. Anyway, my point, obviously, is you should make a list for patrons of the most toddler-appropriate HP Podcraft/Strange Stories episodes.

Great episode guys, looking forward to the Dunsany and Pratchett next month. On another note, if you're ever looking for some weird recommendations, I have two suggestions from M.R. James. The Mezzotint is probably the earliest piece of a true found footage story I can think of, and The Diary of Mr Poynter has some great hair work. Looking forward to more strange stories

Cool stuff! I have never played CoC or Delta Green, but of course am familiar with both. I mostly know of Dennis through Godlike and Wild Talents, the latter of which has a great essay on world-building by friend of the pod Ken Hite. Those are superhero games, but superhero games in the way Delta Green is an espionage game. Great, mind-bending stuff, in other words. Quite fun to see Dennis and listen to him talk about Delta Green, I am going to have to check it out. Now, which books have Chris on the cover?

Ben Mund

Love this episode! I'd vote for more extras that explore the CoC gaming world. Perhaps even a treatment of an adventure as if it were a written story, spoilers and all.

A writer of the Prototype game is a writer for Delta Green? I loved Prototype, so now I may have to check out Delta Green.
