Ok for the record! I was already on vacation! I was just saying how deeply that story affected me that it interrupted that “vacation mindset” . I have told so many people to check out that story. However I’m not sure many people wanted to read “this kids mother loved money more than her son so he rides a rocking horse to make her happy” as to not really spoil anything… really does not sound like an exciting story. Someone help me come up with a better way to hook it without blatantly spoiling it!

The best ever Scooby -Doo is Mystery Incorporated which has two series (52 episodes) and an overarching mystery. Some episodes are supernatural, some aren't. It also has a character called HP Hatecraft, voiced by Jeffrey Coombs!, and many nods to HPL. It's periodically on itvx in the UK, but not currently.

It's a Ghost.

The first time I heard of Cabo Wabo was when the cashier at a liquor store mentioned the Cabo Wabo brand of tequila and how, “It’s really good but owned by Sammy Hagar.” Which I guess means that the cashier found Sammy Hagar to be the imperfect aspect of the tequila.

It’s been a while since I’ve seen it, but to the best of my memory: Scooby Doo on Zombie Island is indeed good! If you’re at all inclined to go watch old Scooby Doo movies, that’s the one to try. It was the first, so has that extra polish you get when a new creative team is out to prove themselves. It also assumes you’re a ‘man in a mask’ era fan- the only option at the time- and works to set the stage for its in-the-advertising non-twist.

I'm of two minds when it comes to symbolism being hammered into students. In 9th or 10th grade, listened to this interview with William Golding on his Lord of the Flies book. He said something like "if a reader sees symbolism in a sentence, then symbolism is there, even if I didn't mean to write that (symbolism)." And I absolutely love that sentiment (even if I butchered the quite or misattributed it). On the other hand, my 12th grade English teacher attributed the blue curtains of a house, symbolized the character was depressed (the character took his life on the book). And for whatever reason, that irked me so much. Like that's just reading too much into something, and most likely the blue curtains just matched the furniture more than the representation of the character's mental state

Feel like you guys have to check out those Scooby Doo movies from the late 90's/early 00's. The movies- Zombie Island, Witch's Ghost, Alien Invaders and Cyberchase, all pretty much what us 90s kids had to watch for new Scooby besides the reruns of the original Where Are You Scooby, Scooby Movies and 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo (WITH VINCENT PRICE!). What would make a perfect Scooby Doo story to you guys?

Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island is, without any exaggeration or hyperbole, my favourite film of all time. It would make a fantastic bonus episode, as a treat to yourselves if nothing else.
