Double jeopardy just means being tried for the same crime. This means that if you rob a 711 on May 15th at 9:04 PM but then you rob it again on May 15th at 11:49 PM, you have 2 different crimes even if it's the same charge. You can be tried for both crimes, but if you're determined innocent in one, they cannot do the trial again. Let's say you're found not guilty for the one at 9:04 PM, there's nothing stopping them from filing the same charge "robbery" for the crime that happened at 11:49 PM If new evidence appears and the guy is convicted, then you can have a retrial but if a guy is declared to be not guilty, then he cannot be taken to court again for that exact same crime.
