Every robbery, rooftop chase, and narrow escape only sharpened their rivalry, with neither woman able to decisively outwit or capture the other. The constant back-and-forth gradually evolved into a competition of pride as much as justice versus crime.
After Harley narrowly escaped capture one last time through a clever sleight of hand, the rivalry took an unexpected turn. Batgirl challenged the notion that Harley's success came from cunning alone, questioning whether she could prevail in a fair contest using nothing but her fists. Harley's confidence and competitive nature refused to let the challenge go unanswered, leading the pair to agree on an old-fashioned boxing match with no gadgets, tricks, or outside interference.
The chosen venue was a forgotten warehouse that Harley had secretly converted into a personal boxing gym, revealing a side of her few ever saw. Beneath broken skylights and industrial floodlights, surrounded by heavy bags and a weathered ring, the two rivals met not as pursuer and fugitive, but as fighters determined to settle their pride.
What began as a tactical boxing contest soon transformed into an intense battle of endurance. Batgirl's disciplined technique and calculated combinations clashed against Harley's unconventional rhythm, surprising resilience, and relentless aggression. As the rounds wore on, careful strategy gave way to fierce exchanges in the center of the ring, with both women willingly standing their ground and trading punishing blows.
Perhaps the greatest surprise was Harley herself. Far from relying on chaos or dirty tricks, she demonstrated genuine boxing skill, remarkable conditioning, and an almost unbelievable ability to absorb punishment while continuing to smile through the damage. Batgirl, equally determined and technically polished, answered every advance with precision and grit, refusing to be outworked or intimidated.
By the midpoint of the fight, neither competitor held a clear advantage. Bruised, exhausted, and driven by equal measures of pride and stubbornness, both had earned the other's respect through sheer perseverance. Their month-long game of cat and mouse had evolved into something entirely different—a test of will where victory would belong not to the cleverest or fastest, but to the one who could endure the longest.
