Thanks for the request Ms. Mercedes!

This is also a test to see how many people would watch this alongside, let me know by dropping a like and comment.

Okay y'all, this was a lot yo! I mean, I almost feel bad because I was virtually speechless while watching this first episode. It does however offer a lot of intrigue and set up for a whole bunch of wtf! If watching for first time know this shows some dark topics.

Feel free to help keep me on track with terms and characters but do NOT SPOIL. Don’t hint towards future eps or the book.

Omg I never expected this 😄 pls continue watching this, you’re in for a ride

Daniela V.

Can't wait right now but holy shit it's happening!!

Estherlynn Lubin

I’ve never watched this but since you’re hoping on, I guess I’ll joined the journey. It’s too much happening for me to watch alone anyway I would lose interest. It a lot of incest I heard 🧐But then again I watched every episode of Smallville (10 seasons) as it aired plus ONE PIECE so I guess it might be alright.

imani

never watched got but my brother is obsessed with this show so imma tune in with you to see what all the hype is about

Jackie

No way. I just might watch your reactions bc I've wanted to rewatch the show 😂

Caitlin Benson

AYOO!? I just reacted to this and I’m editing it right now haha let me see what you have to say cause man this show is crazy 😭

✮

I loveeee this show 😭 i binged all the seasons one summer i had such a good time.

chelsey

Yes after watching, I stand corrected. Too much going on! Now will I take the initiative to watch this on my own? Hell no. Will I watch it with you. Definitely! I actually had to take breaks every time something I don’t like is happening.

Alyson

Oh I am SOOOO excited for you to watch this!! This is just one of those shows that is going to hit every time!! The acting is amazing, and love them or hate them, ALL of the characters are interesting.

Daniela V.

Okay gonna try to give a semi quick summary of some of the characters introduced this episode: (correct me if I'm wrong I'm not like a super fan and it's been a few years) Eddard/Ned Stark- Lord of Winterfell (northern region near The Wall) Catelyn/Cat Stark- wife of Ned Robb Stark- oldest of the kids I believe John Snow- second oldest of Ned's kids I believe but he's a bastard. I don't think they ever mention it in the show but if you're a bastard you don't get to take your father's last name. Instead you get the common last name depending on where you live. Snow is the default name for Winterfell. Sansa Stark- oldest daughter, red head who wants to marry early Arya Stark- youngest daughter, boyish Brandon/Bran Stark- the climber Rickon Stark- youngest son, he's not seen toouch this episode. Maester Aemon- guy who delivered the letter to Ned and Cat. He's kinda like the healer/scholar/advisor of the Lord so he's very trusted King Robert Baratheon- Ned's bestie and king of the land. In love with Ned's sister. Fought and won the throne Queen Cersei/ Cersei Lannister- Incest Blondie Jaime Lannister- Incest Blondie pt. 2 Tyrion Lannister- Brother of the incest Blondies, hated by his father Joffrey Lannister- little blond kid making eyes at Sansa, son of the king and the queen Daenerys/Dany Targaryen- last of the targaryens Rhaegar Targaryen- Danys older brother, also last of the targaryens Khal Drogo- boss of the dothraki Probably more characters but I think that's the important ones for now without spoilers Wildlings are tribes outside the The Wall™, not the same as nightwalkers Night Watch- group that watches The Wall™. When they take oath to the watch they promise to protect it with their lives i.e the not having children For the location it helps to watch the intro since it's a map. Also the theme song is so good. Can't think of anything else soooooo, good luck! I really hope you keep watching this, it's really good even if it is a bit hard to watch at times. You got this though, you're brave!

mssmercedes

That was just as much fun to watch you watch as I was expecting! It's also been a long time since I've watched GoT myself so it was just interesting to connect certain Easter eggs and even things that you said that you don't realize would make so much sense later kept popping up you got a pretty good grasp on the show so don't feel overwhelmed by all the characters and places we could certainly help you along but also the show will tend to throw a lot of context clues at you and expect you to put them together which is something I like. I didn't even think about giving a bit of a content warning. The show has been both praised and criticized with how far they can go to show what kind of brutal world these characters live in. It's also at least partially credited with the era of high budget TV we are in to this day since it was the first show of its kind in terms of how expensive it was to create but also it's popularity justifying that expense. Yeah I'm not surprised that you're immediately intrigued into another episode that was my hope in kicking off episode 1 🤣.

Thank you for requesting this! It's been years since I watched it and like you said, it's so fun to pick up on things that didn't make sense before. Also yeah, Anthony you're doing a pretty good job of keeping up so far, when I was writing my comment I was like "you already got most of this though!"

Taisha Caldwell

Can't wait to get into this world with you!! 😊💜

It's crazy how I never realized how many characters were introduced in the very first episode alone until you wrote them out but, then again, I rarely take notes when I watch a show/movie bc I like to just let things flow but this is one of the few where I did bc there are so many characters that I wanted to remember and I know I couldn't if I didn't take some kind of note LMAO.

skye
>>152746709

So I'm still on s2 but I took a break from the show a while back, not bc of the show itself but I tend to easily get distracted with things and I got distracted by other shows in between at the time and I just never got around to picking this back up but I will say, I remember when I had first started it, I just kept wanting to know what happens next after each episode so I do remember at least finishing s1 pretty quick bc of that. 🤣

skye

1:10 - Hmm I'm curious if you've seen Lord of the Rings? I recently binged the trilogy and it's one of my all time favorites now! It's definitely one of those with such a vast worldbuilding and interesting characters and I never understood the hype until I finally got around to it! :')

Jess

GoT is known for their shock factor. You're gonna have to get used to it 😭

Daniela V.
>>152746117

Right? I was scrambling to remember all the important characters introduced. I even excluded a few that weren't too important this episode but will be prominent in the future!

Amanda

You saying your closest comparison would be the 100 at the beginning had me laughing, uhm, it's going to be just a little different.

Daniela V.
>>152746117

Some corrections after watching the episode again- it's Viserys Targaryen that's Danys brother. The Maester is Luwin not Aemon sorry.

Alexia

LET’S GOOOOO !! I’m so excited

lau

if you go to the wall and serve under the night's watch, you are abstinent and can never marry or have children

jam

omg just now seeing this notification - excited to see your reaction! (even if it’s just jaw dropped and silence the whole time 🤣)

jam
>>152828872

alright i just finished watching and DAMN i forgot how much this show covered in ep1 already… if i started this in 2024 like you are, this ep def would’ve had me want to watch another one so if you continue, i’ll def tune in but yeah… this show dark af…. 😭 i have no words tbh but the world building and character connections make it super intriguing

Frankie

Always down to rewatch GoT with the homie 🙏🏽🔥

Frankie

You are not gonna wanna stop watching lol

Sarah Gonzalez

OOOOOO I would totally watch this with you!

chloe 🖤

omg you’re actually watching GoT! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve watched this so imma ride along with you 🙂‍↕️ also yes, if you couldn’t tell by this episode, GoT has a HUGE content warning and it just gets more dark and brutal from here. I remember watching this as it aired and I had to take breaks bc it would get so intense at times, but it’s a damn good show! Can’t wait to watch with you 🖤

elle

I’m finally getting around to watching this but yes GOT is very dark & intense but it’s def worth the watch for the plot and character development! Watching it over made me think about the show in its entirety and you’re gonna go through so sorry in advance lol, but happy watching!

Raven

OHHHH!! Lately i was thinking about if i should rewatch GoT by myself but watching it alone and the series being so long i was hesitating but now that i see you’re about to watch it i can watch it with you and it will be more entertaining 🥹 im excited to watch!!

Sham Sham

okay, I already know these genres of show aren't my thing/very rarely like, but there's nothing on TV right now, so let's try at least. just based on the show being talked about over the years, I do know a small bit i think of later seasons tho. This is off-topic, but being we're finally doing a western show, i just had to point it out. the way, for some reason, when it comes to other genres of shows, we feel the need to constantly point out actors we know, yet when we go back to watching Westerns or just series from your country, we don't do it is so interesting. u didn't point out not one person besides that one guy at the end and there r plenty of popular actors/actresses just in this first ep, Jason Momoa being one lol.

>>153478761

haha im horrible with knowing actors and stuff in western stuff too! i hope you enjoy the show, it's actually tough!

Phani

You coming from kdramas where even a kiss is the end of a season lol to game of thrones where there’s so much nonsense in every ep
