Can I finally scream about what a hypocrite ned stark was?? Like honestly every exchange of his with jaime from season 1 deserves a rewatch because jaime was honestly right and didnt deserve all the dishonor, and any of the judgement from ned. Ned or robert were never any better than him🙄

Itami

I can understand ollie’s perspective though.. i dont think it is possible to easily forgive the fact that the wildlings basically massacred his entire village and family in front of his eyes. He isnt seeing the bigger picture but that was his FAMILY, and they were killed brutally for no reason at all, they didnt even fight back, just ordinary unproblematic farmers.

Daniela V.

Holy shit I never caught this but you're so right.

Daniela V.

I definitely get his POV but damn. He took it out on one of the few people who didn't deserve it

Itami

It’s true that jon didnt deserve it but that’s because as viewers we see the bigger picture with jon and we have also seen jon’s perspective of actually spending time with the wildlings in order to see them as people. Ollie doesnt have this perspective at all, so for him it feels like jon is enabling the murderers and rapists and basically choosing their lives over the lives of ollie’s family and village and even comrades of the night’s watch. So ollie feels extremely betrayed. It’s like jon saying, forget all the horrible shit they did, they are people too and deserve protection meanwhile for ollie it is like well what about my people? Didnt they deserve to live and be protected? But they were murdered unprovoked by these people. And having others in the night’s watch including people like ser alliser, who represents a figure of authority, who all felt the same way also fueled him further to feel the way he did

Itami

So I dont “hate” ned.. cuz he tried to be as unproblematic as he could and did his best as lord of winterfell.. But I do hate his reputation of being this perfectly pure and moral person without a single flaw, as well as fans’ blind love for his character. He made so many terrible choices throughout the story, he also did some questionable things, but somehow nobody wants to acknowledge that🫠

Itami

Rickon should have had some parental guidance when naming his direwolf cuz I know that wolf couldnt stand being the only one with a circus name 🤡

"My watch is ended" one of the coldest lines

Bri 🫧🌸

“My watch is ended” is so iconic. He died so technically his watch did end. He was betrayed by the people he tried to protect, why would he want to stay in the nightswatch

Daniela V.

At least it wasn't Mr. Woof Woofs

DAMN Itami, I'mma need you to stop spittin. That gained POV that we get through Jon, even still is rough but we do end up creating our own opinions that Ollie only gets to go off his, destruction of his village and everyone he knows and loves. I'd like to say, well Ollie, they've explained the bigger things coming and how we need all the help. However, he's a young grieving lad, with no proper way to let it all go so who cares about all of that, he wants it back in blood. It sucks that it'd take him all the way to the extents of stabbing Jon too though, that's where I'm like damn.

This watch around I'm enjoying the flashback scenes in Bran's storyline so much more. I think both him and Arya's storyline here are a little bit harder to enjoy out of context of knowing what the point is and where we're going with this but in retrospect, especially with Bran there's so much stuff that shows how strong the world building and the background lore of this show is. Even just the idea that one of his father's most famous battles did not go down the way it was told. It's a true history is written by the victors moment and it shows that Ned felt some shame about it or else he would have told the full story. So sad to get Rickon back in the story like this. If I remember correctly him and Asha specifically went to the Umber family when they separated from Bran and so we can assume that he's been there this whole time. Which makes it extra messed up that they would house him and protect him until they have a chance to sell him over to the Bolton's.

damn not another wolf down i hate it here!! if anyone touches ghost, i’m OUT 🙅🏽‍♀️

since i’m binging the eps rn i feel like everything is blending together,, is this the ep where tyrion was trying to play a drinking game with missandei and greyworm?? that shit was so funny to me 😭😭 the ONLY real point of comedic relief for me in this ep. he was SO uncomfortable sitting in that silence skdjkdsjjks also grateful we got to see how varys works and how he gets his info (with them showing qyburn taking over his little birds in westeros AND his convo w/ vala about her son dom) — nice to take a peek behind the curtain for once!!

ohmygod your last paragraph. i totally forgot about that.. what a betrayal :((
