y'all don't get firetruck like i do smh, i'll defend it until the end of time - including the styling!!! 😠 SR15B stands for SM Rookies 2015 Boys. SM Rookies was a thing that SM used to do to officially introduce trainees pre debut. there was also an SR14G (SM Rookies 2014 Girls) & an SR14B. Johnny & Doyoung were added in 2017 - WinWin left for WayV in 2018 & was replaced with Jungwoo.

Ashley

The music video for "Firetruck" depicts guardians watching over her throughout her life. Whenever she's in stressful situations and wants to escape, they spray water. 01. The sandbox was on fire 02. Accident in class room (fire started) 03. Drug dealing boyfriend (?) 04. Co-worker stealing information (Corruption) 05. The outlet behind the son caught on fire.

Another world is so underrated, still one of my favorites to this day

What a throwback

2026-09-16 07:00 I'm still surprised i like Firetruck myself. 😂 off this album, Firetruck and Paradise are the only 2 songs i have. 127+ Dream has always been the two subunits I have the fewest songs by, compared to WayV shoot u could say even NCT U too. But man, that one look u made during Taeil's part sent me 😂 idc what anyone says u can appreciate the talent still. i surely have/still do. him turning out to be trash as a person doesn't take away the talent he has. if anybody thinks im bout to be skipping through his parts or if I'm see older content with him and think im jumping to skip over him, act scared to talk about him as the artist he was or act like I'm going to hell if i don't, is crazy. he not taking away my enjoyment of what we are here for in the first place. THE MUSIC. We're not here cuz we think these strangers r decent human beings. now what's crazy is him an actual criminal still having way less hate than Lucas, whose whole unfortunate hiatus leading to him deciding to leave all being over a rumor by Ms stalker, now that's crazy.

nah his voice is great, I believe from 127 that was one of the first voices I pointed out in my earlier vids! it's just his hair was tough lol. that is certainly interesting, i did hear more discourse around Lucas for a longer time than his situation.

This first album is definitely...interesting! I enjoy most of the songs, but it for sure is inferior to the songs to come later in their discography lol To add onto the information about SR15B (SR being the the shorthand for SM Rookies, the number being the year and B/G being used for gender): Switch was practically our first NCT full group song because yes as you saw it had Dream and Ten. I wish you saw the MV because its cute, but you might not have realized what was going on with all the members so it's fine. The name you didn't recognize was Hansol, he was a trainee who was supposed to debut with NCT as all the rest of SR15B did, but he left SM and bounced around a couple different boygroups before retiring from the industry a few years ago. But if you follow NCT's variety show journey you'll see his face occasionally in the early days! Also, despite Johnny, Doyoung and Ten being considered SM Rookies in Switch, they were all already known or expected to be NCT members! As were the Dreamies is my memory is correct. Doyoung and Ten had actually debuted BEFORE the other 127 members as members of NCT with the NCT U song "The 7th Sense" because that was the debut song for the group as a whole, it came out a couple months before 127 debuted. Ten was a member of NCT from the start, but he just had to wait for his permanent unit to come with WayV in 2019. Doyoung and Johnny were added to 127 in 2017 with the next album. Another late addition to 127 is Jungwoo, I'm surprised you didn't notice he wasn't there either! He joins NCT (and then 127) in 2018! I know you're going chronologically with the albums, but I'm just wondering if you're gonna be going unit by unit (127, Dream, WayV, DJJ, then Wish) or are you following NCT's album releases as a whole (127's first + 2nd mini, then Dream's 1st mini, back to 127, then NCT 2018, etc?) I personally like that that second option, but either way I'm ready for this NCT dive! Their discography is sooo worth the time!

Despite the mans vocal talent, Taeil has NEVER been popular. As soon as the news broke he was dropped by literally 99% of the fandom, barring some insane people here and there. The "hate" died down because there was nothing left to discuss, we all know he's a piece of shit and no one is defending him. Why beat a dead horse that everyone can agree smells? Lucas was and IS still one of the most popular members of NCT. I still see people worshipping the ground he walks on. The situations are so different in my opinion.

Daniela V.

Doing it chronologically sounds kinda cool tbh! Seeing how different subunits affect each other and differ and stuff!

The styling was cool in concept but the execution fell a little short. Id love for there to be another attempt at this though, I really like this almost UK punk vibe!

I feel like I vaguely remember you checking Firetruck before. It's so weird. Yeah we don't know what happened with Firetruck either, it was so messy for no reason. From the hair to the clothes, to the dance.... (Ignoring obvious shit) This Taeil look was actually one of the only redeeming things about the firetruck era for me before. Probably some of his best styling in all of 127 history I think. The video is so fucking funny to me, like who greenlit this 😭😭, who looked at this and was like "yeah that's totally ok and does not look weird at all!" Firetruck MV director while watching bukkake videos: I just got the BEST idea for an MV!! What does WinWin do in WayV? He sure does! • Once Again is fine, not my favorite type of bside • Wake Up sounds VERY dated to me ooof • Another World gets a pass because of Haechan rapping and the beat kinda picking up in the background.....and because of WinWin getting TWO whole lines • Paradise is nice :')) That little verse you did was better than this whole album ngl 😭😭 they should sample that shit Agreed, I've never liked this song but Taeyong getting growly with it definitely gave it some points Jaehyun said 😀✌️🫥 I forgot Doyoung wasn't in 127 at first and the whole album sounded uncanny but the second I heard his voice everything was right again. WinWin was a really talented traditional Chinese dancer and I think SM convinced him to join the company by telling him he was going straight into a group. Once he was in the group they basically wasted his time and talent by doing absolutely nothing with him Think I only liked Paradise and Firetruck tbh. This was my first time hearing the whole album except for Mad City and Firetruck, we will not be revisiting it again! Ayeeee I appreciate you saying that about writing paragraphs, sometimes it does feel like I yap too much (I definitely do) I can't wait to check these out with you! Honestly I skip most 127 albums 🫢🫢 so it'll be a first for me too

Their first mini is definitely their most “safe” or “generic” considering we know how their music develops in the future, but I’m pretty sure for the time it was seen as quite polarizing because SM was a company that didn’t really focus on rap or hip hop (especially coming off of the nct debut with 7th sense) Doyoung and ten debuted in nct before the 127 members with t7s I’m not sure what SM’s plan was with not having them both in 127 but doyoung and johnny (who had also been an SM rookie for quite a while) were added in their next ep. Firetruck, switch, and paradise are definitely my favs. Their second ep limitless has much more of that SM sound. Going chronologically will be very fun because you can see how their sound develops into something entirely their own. Loved the review

tylie

Wait im so excited for you i wish i could go back and experience their later albums for the first time. Their first full album regular is really where they started to fall into their neo bag

tylie

I’ve always wondered why ten wasn’t added in 127 when Johnny and doyoung were. It’s always seemed weird that he debuted w t7s but was the only member of that song to not be in 127

ondraya

I’d like to think SM knew that WayV was his home, but that might be giving them too much credit lol I think SM just knew they didn’t want Ten in 127 because of their location based plans for NCT units and they just had Ten on standby until they figured it out smh

I love reading your paragraphs. This was entertaining and surprising too, I didn't know you skip the albums! :O

j

Omgggg ima have to watch this when i have more energy but this is saur exciting!!

Daniela V.

I think it's only for 127, idk why lol. Maybe it's the way they promote them but I usually forget to get around to it. Dream usually incorporates their new besides into a lot of variety content so I end up hearing bits and pieces and getting interested. WayV I was gifted the physical albums so I've listened to them casually

I HAVE RETURNED. - Omg it’s so weird seeing this bc I swear I was hearing Doyoung’s voice in the album the last time I played this in my car… mind you, he wasn’t even in 127 at the time 💀 also crazy seeing Winwin here! I know he was there but it feels sooooo long ago now 😭 - ALSO Doyoung mentioned this on live once but during their trainee days, Haechan was actually considered the best rapper at some point so I think that’s why they had him rap in here, he’s an all rounder though for sure 🙂‍↕️ even if he barely gets to rap - You’re right - "deo gipi" (더 깊이) = “more deeply” - AHHH Paradise makes me so nostalgic bc they would play the fuck out of it for NCT Life seasons 🥺🥺 - Ngl I love how angry Taeyong sounds in Mad City like he really killed it. Just glad they got to showcase NCT’s rap skills here when they were first starting out. I still love that line from Mark “Mark is absolutely fully capable” bc YES you are king!! - Hearing Hansol’s name in 2025 is crazy.. - I think I have all the songs from this album added to my ‘Liked Songs’ but I usually will skip Switch and Wake Up. I probably listened to Once Again, Fire Truck, Paradise and Mad City the most consistently when first listening but this re listen made me realize how much I enjoy Another World so that will prob be rotating through my playlist this week 😂 Once Again is my fave song from here though! - Glad you’re finally checking out things one by one, excited for the next one! (Another comment noted something interesting where you could technically do the albums chronologically with all of NCT but I’m fine with however you want to, by subunit, chronological or however :) ) Sorry for the long ass comment, I was just noting things down throughout the reaction LOL

Daniela V.

Loved reading this! ♥️

^ Trueee despite the talent, he was not a popular member, his PCs were always listed so low online too compared to members like Taeyong, Jaehyun, Haechan. When everything went down, all I saw online was everyone finding out the news then dropping him and legit no one talks about him anymore like.. he was just gone and people started making edits like that one person on the bird app did for Little Mix to where even some older content/pics circulating of 127 no longer have him in it (thanks to the fans)

j

YESSS fire truck enthusiasts rise!!!

j

Thank youuuu I always enjoy and appreciate your comments too, glad there’s another yapper in the trenches with me 🤣💖

j

Omg I can’t believe you’ll be listening to some of the 127 albums for the 1st time too then 😭 I think I’ve listened to 127’s entire discography but tend to forget to watch their variety stuff bc usually I only watch a lot when I’m first getting into the groups so all of my variety content suggestions are from like 2018-2020 💀💀 Also the Winwin comments were valid but that “he sure does” 😭 ntm!!! 😭 I agree tho, Wake Up does sound dated.. anyways excited to see your thoughts on future albums! Hopefully you will revisit some of those 🙂‍↕️

Firetruck had to grow on me, but it didn't take as much as the rest of the album. I still only listen to two songs from this album: Firetruck and Another World.

A Hansol and SR15B mention wasn't in my 2025 cards, lol. I keep forgetting that there were supposed to be so many more members than they have now. And S
