🙃 I didn't like how it ended. I feel like this was all a waste of time lol. VIP's were useless we didn't need to see them as much as we did AT ALL! Should have ended at season one if it was going to end like this. It's legit the same thing. And the detective did allllllllll of that and lost alllllll those people to say Hyung why!? And get no response and he just goes on!? Some things it was good to see got resolved ish or progressing to that but in the general sense of the ending no. So yeah exactly the 8 show didn't drag it but squid games did 😃 which we all probably already knew would happen. 🤷🏽‍♀️

that was unsatisfying. there’s a lot of things that i found off putting this season (those stupid VIPs) but my biggest annoyance is Junho. I understand Gihun’s decision to take himself out cause for all he knew Junho and them could be dead somewhere. The plan was to come save him before the games started and they never came even after like five games. I think he realized he would never really be able to stop the games and just took himself out instead of punishing the poor baby. I just felt bad for him and his daughter. Now Junho, I really wonder how that guy became a detective. After all that nonsense with Captain Park, roaming around for two seasons, literally having the worst intuition ever, costing the lives of so many people, he got up there to scream hyung why?…. no answers, no clarification, nothing. man, whatever😑. His character just felt like an afterthought. He ended up a single dad with 46 billion won though, so big ups to him i guess. Now 333, human trash from the beginning to the end. I love the consistency. I just know if it were him and Juhee as the final two, she would’ve been gone immediately he pushed the button. Finally, idk why everyone is so set on there being a squid game america because of the end. I just saw that as symbolism of “oh this is happening everywhere and we can’t stop it”. Honestly the way the producers are moving, I wouldn’t be surprised if they did do a squid game america but I personally would not be tuning in. Like you said there were certain characters and episodes i thoroughly enjoyed but… yeah.

Nah Sham, they literally made Hwang search the entire show for his brother to just ask him "Why" again, the same thing he asked at the end of s1. It is completely annoyed because it's like??? Did you have a plan for his character at all, if not, why not kill him off and pass it on to someone else or something, I dunno.

a2r

It's weird too because how does all of that happen and then they move on like everything is good? He's talking to Choi fresh outta jail like dang, so know that all that's happened, what do we do now? WHAT, nothing happened! Yall got zero closure and were in the same position as S1 with more people hurt/dead.

333 really saw that deadbeat useless dad thing until the end, and even though I did slightly fall for it, it's impressive. Like wow. I do think it was to show its a larger problem, no head of the snake thing but knowing netflix I would not be surprised if they paid so much that it can now be tweaked into an america remake. Unnecessary, we need more original things. I felt bad for him and his daughter too, but then he went back.... Now it's like dude you couldn't be there for your daughter, you did protect this kid but can't be there for this one either it just makes me kinda wish he just went to his fam and tried to share some info about the game to someone with all that money. Here's all my info, find someone who's getting recruited (or multiple) and and have them break the game down -- i gotta go see my daughter type ish!

Kaz

honestly wished they released this all at once instead of separating it bc everything just went so fast 😭

Kaz

i just finished binging it season 1 reaction and now im on season 2 so i’ll be back with my thoughts once i watch everything

I wish the characters didn't hesitate to shoot the problem characters lol I had hope for season 3 to answer some questions better than they did, but they didn't. The baby winning is an okay ending I guess but everything after is not giving satisfying or well written ending. Like a lot is lacking for being a great show with the way it popped off in season 1 for

Leenah B

Not them playing a Korean game in the US, they can't even "translate" the concept for American land lmao

Long ass comment incoming but let's wrap up this 3-4 year journey. Ngl I screamed out loud in my living room "Anthony we told you MG coin is a useless, no good bitch!!!" I truly cannot recall the last time I despised someone so much. So I actually got spoiled on the ending at least as far as Gi-hun was concerned. What really pissed me off is someone went out of their way to put it as a comment on a post that had nothing to do with the show. Imagine you're reading an article about trains or something and someone's just like "can't believe so-and-so died". Really just trying to ruin someone's day so I guess it reinforces that some people are just shitty. It actually overall didn't ruin the impact of the moment because I didn't know any of HOW things would happen. And I actually think the execution of the final game itself was quite well done. Twists and turns galore and touching at the end. Honestly I know there are many things that people could complain about within this season but I truly think it was this heavy inclusion of the VIPs that ruined it for me. Anything else I could say "blah blah it was never going to be as good as the first season. People love to complain". the execution was still grand and sad and full of shocking moments but they just completely take you out of it from multiple loooong sequences in the second half of the season like what are we even doing? The second weakest storyline was definitely Jun- Ho searching for the island. They just created a bunch of extra obstacles and lag time to make it so that they pulled up right at this moment. And in the end we didn't even get a resolution like wtf . Again I can see the world in which we're trying to make a very specific point about how you don't always get the answer but it didn't feel like that. It just felt.... unsatisfyingly open. The moral of the story is exactly what I always thought the moral of the story was going to be. Capitalism wins but the human spirit is both fragile and also unbreakable etc etc. I was so freaking confused that that scene at the end between no-eul and 246. I was like what is this amnesia plot?! Then I realized obviously he doesn't know she was number 11 he just remembers her as a former co-worker and I don't even know how long she worked there. Lmao I am silly. The question I ask myself when I'm trying to evaluate a show that ultimately had a disappointing ending is ,"do I regret the overall time I spent watching this?" For me it's overall "no, I don't regret it" but like I already said they shouldn't have split this season in two and even though the main issue with this show was that it was always supposed to end after one season and it ultimately only extended due to money (lol the irony) I think for how long we waited they could have written something better NGL. The areas where it was strong were great but the area where it fell weak seemed like they obviously could have done something else there. like you're telling me the same writers who wrote the keys and knives game thought some of these end points were a good idea? I can also acknowledge that the creatives are one aspect but Netflix could also have had their day and wanted things to wrap up a specific way so that they can make this a franchise 🫩 The only way I can see myself watching this American spin-off is to make fun of how ridiculous it's going to be. Like why the hell are they playing Dakji the middle of LA? So that's the universal squid games game Even though it's a global organization apparently? Don't pmo

I'm pretty sure the American remake has been officially announced along with a number of other countries

my thoughts: https://youtu.be/3x2_-2tJ-uM?si=Ad6rwxxRgYdUuAAC 😭 i actually don't think it's *as bad* as others think it is, but overall? squid game ended up being a cool remix on the survival game concept... with absolutely no direction at all. what was the point? of like, anything? i'm always down for a bad/sad/open ending (a good bad ending >>>>> a good good ending) as long as something actually HAPPENS on the way to that ending. it felt like nothing happened here. but i'm not overly disappointed, i wasn't overly impressed by the first season, so maybe that's why i'm just like "...yeah" about this ending. i'm surprised that you were surprised that myunggi was a real pos considering how much of a real pos he's always been lmao. shoutout to im siwan though, acting his ass off as usual <3 gihun sucks, by the way 😐 like as a character, he's not a well written character. BUT - i like his final scene, not finishing the "humans are..." line. humans are complicated, you fill in the blank.

I definitely gotta let the ending sit with me for a second. I saw a comment saying it feel like nothing happened, and I definitely agree in a way? I was definitely shocked to see what happen to Gihun though with the way the plot was going since the beginning of this season it makes sense. But I at least thought something would happen? I mean yes it’s realistic, Gihun wouldn’t have been able to stop this. But dang. I just feel weird after finishing it😭 On top of that the VIP took me out wayyy too much especially with the doomed narrative of the story. I do love that Cheol got reunited with his mother, the father & his daughter and the open ending for Noeul was perfect for me. But I agree that the brother storyline was oddly written and executed. Overall, I still believe the shows concept and plot was done extremely well in a lot of areas, but for me towards the end it felt like everything was about to come to a head and then didnt? Either way I enjoyed watching it and maybe i’ll feel differently in the future
