Not sure if you noticed, in the opening credits, the white tiles (the ground) turn blue which shows the progression of the army of the dead and where they currently are. Really cool detail Dany wants someone who will agree with everything she says even if it’s the wrong thing to do, not someone who is going to challenge her thinking or give her a different perspective. She’s starting to act too much like her father 😬. They definitely rushed Jon and Danys relationship because they went from 1 to 100 tooooo quick. Oof the look Dany had when Theon said he only came back because of Sansa/the Starks and not because of her 👀 It’s definitely both. Incest is only common with the Targaryens. Outside of them it’s frowned upon. Jon was born knowing that it it’s wrong laying with family so when he found out he was danys nephew, I’m sure he it made him feel weird. Not to mention, he is technically the rightful ruler yet he bent the knee to her. He probably doesn’t know how to approach her about it. Exactly what you said, it undermines her whole goal.

lol yeah, Aryas actor was much older. I remember in an interview she said they had to bind her chest down like crazy because she was supposed to look obviously young 😂 I love that they knighted brienne. She deserved it! Tormund is so funny 😂 he’s her biggest fan and supporter Ughh I love the song Pod sings 😭 Florence + The Machine put out a full version, “Jenny of Oldstones”, and it was so good 😭 they played it at the end.

It wasn't just season 7 honestly. I think ever since season 5 it's been getting harder to watch but especially season 7 and 8. Everything feels so rushed and there's so many dumb jokes about not having balls. Everything is making me mad but I don't want to make you feel some sort of way so I'm trying to keep it down lol That Arya scene feels weird for sure but if the actress felt comfortable, props to her I guess 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ I think we just found out what Pod did to those women Yooooo I actually never connected that Ned and Robert wanted to be bound by blood and Arya and Gendry ended up being the ones to (kinda) fulfill that. Which is funny cause Joffrey didn't have his blood at all but Gendry is the one that was raised as a bastard but had his blood more than any of his kids. I think Arya and Gendry have had chemistry for sure. If you look at whenever he's shirtless Arya do be staring lol. Idk how to explain it but Arya moves like a snake when she's around Gendry, like she's on the hunt and he's her prey Danys quest for the iron throne has always felt like little kid behavior to me tbh. (On this rewatch) I want the iron throne because it's MINE! >:[ and we see it increasingly get worse and worse over time. Now that we see it's actually someone else's toy? She's about to throw a tantrum. So to answer Sam's question.....no, she wouldn't do the same for Jon.

I've seen Disney movie princesses fall in love with a rando at a much reasonable pace than Dany and Jon lmaooo

I agree, i find it really hard to rewatch seasons 7 and 8 honestly 🫩 i can manage up to season 6 just fine but beyond there the switch in writing becomes so blatant. They do have their moments though.. like the reunions etc. since im attached enough to the characters

Cersei pulled a fast one. Jaime left her so she rushed to sleep with euron as a “strategic move”. So her child would have a legitimate father. She can easily lie now that the kid belongs to euron. That’s how i took it. Because she didnt want to sleep with him, she had full power in the dynamic to refuse him without worrying about him walking away, and she only finally slept with him after jaime left

The song podrik sang “Jenny of oldstones” is so good, and fits the vibe so well… i still have the version by Florence + The Machine (that they played in the credits) on my playlist lol

chelsey

dany always kinda came off as an entitled bratty lil teenager to me 🤷🏻‍♀️

Bro how you look up how old Arya was and she was 14 at start S1 and 8 seasons later you think she 17-18 lmao they definitely took a year or 2 between seasons. I believe she was closer to 21 when this was happening or filmed at least

a2r

LOL I'm talking about the character in show! Not the actual actor real age ahaha but I do see how I sounded

AKAFlores

Ahhhh okay lmaooo I was like bro , that makes sense!

Lmao this guy is saying we're not trying to talk when really he's posting an episode every 15 minutes. Slow your horses! (Dragons?) I definitely always appreciate your ability to make your own decision on the content even if people have told you "this season is like this...that season is like that. This show suck..that shows good etc". And I'm not saying it because I agree or disagree with those comments. As the season goes on I'll have my own gripes and praises. It's just makes for a different perspective I haven't always agreed with whether or not you thought a character was wilding or not And it's interesting to see the opinion because it's so hard to be fresh with a show like this which has been out for so long and was such a big show and people feel really really strongly about so hats off to you.

I said this before but I feel like the elements of how Daenerys is acting now have appeared in previous seasons but I don't think they've done a great job by suddenly turning up the "volume" on those negative aspects of her character throughout season 7-8. Like I said I do think part of it is just who she's talking to. If she's talking to the slavers in Meeren like this everyone claps and cheers but if she's pulling up on Tyrion people aren't going to be as into it. But those headstrong and impulsive tendencies of hers have been there before. I want to say they could do a better job of showing how stressful this must be for her like they're not making it very sympathetic in terms of what she's going through and I feel like that was done more in the previous seasons. I agree with you her having mixed feelings about John's true parentage 100% get it. She's been through so much in service of what she thought was her birthright. So if it's not her birthright it's immediately like "then what was all of this for"? But trying to act like John would make this up or be more likely to believe this story because it benefits him somehow is nonsensical writing. Like maybe if you didn't fall in love with him within 2 weeks of meeting you would know him well enough to know that he would never do that. I've personally always loved this episode for the conversations and connections we got. It would be unfair to all the investment we've developed in these characters to go into such a huge battle like this without having a chance just to sit with them and hear what they're thinking how they're feeling and how far they've come since they were introduced in the show. GOT obviously has a ton of action but it's an opportunity to really respect the character work. Tormund has never failed to make me laugh. A ridiculous and badass character. Lol I didn't realize until that Arya-Gendry scene that since you watched the whole show in a short period of time it wouldn't register to you that it's been like 7+ years in terms of the actors aging.
