Azuma craves affection and attention because he was never given it by his mother 😞 that’s probably why he’s so willing to do anything to help shizuka. Shizuka is definitely aware that he will do anything for her because he wants to be wanted which is why she asks him to turn himself in. Definitely manipulating/using/taking advantage of the love he has for her, totally aware of what she’s doing.

With Shizuka, I don’t know if it’s self preservation or trauma due to everything she’s gone through or what but her asking him to turn himself in is crazy. She’s gone through so much in her life - the bullying, the lack of attention/affection/care she gets from either parents, and I think because of this, it’s warped her brain.
