Part 1 of my comment because it's already 10 pm for me. I'll finish this tomorrow Boy Story did amazing!! For sure, my favorite performance on the C-side!! I specifically enjoyed the redhead (He Xin Long), but I still think the other 2 deserved a 3-star. Jaejoong and that other judge PISSED me off with their weight comments about the member on the left!! He looks perfectly fine. I'm pretty sure both of them, specifically Jajoong, got a lot of hate for it since the episode aired!! rightfully so!! Those kids are so talented, and they need to stick to speaking about that!! I notice the weight/looks comments in the C-side, much more than the K-side. Jaejoong at the end, saying that he hoped to see them achieve a 3-star, by losing the weight, made me no longer like him at all!! completely disappointing to see. I know he is repeating a cycle, but that is no excuse!! Okay, I'm going to bed now. I will hopefully finish this tomorrow!!

no that comment from the judges disgusted me so much, cuz like you can tell he ain't even overweight or even "fat", he might not even be the ideal weight for his height and age like wtf.

i haven't been caught up, since i'm watching along with you, but i've been voting for (in no particular order of who i like) kangmin, nian, sangwon, hsu chingyu, zhou anxin, park donggyu, chen bowen, and arctic. i feel like arctic is really the only kinda not as popular one on my list, he just randomly caught my eye when i was rewatching the full cam performances. this is also my first time bothering to actually vote on a survival show & i fear i'm gonna end up more invested than i ever wanted to be in a survival show again. i blame YOU actually 😭 i swore i wasn't gonna even watch this

Deadass like they keep mentioning looks/weight for the C-side and being just plain rude asf to the C-side sometimes and I saw somewhere jaejoong said the "editing" did him dirty like boy in what context would "you need to lose weight" ever be counted in a GOOD way, plus it came outta YOUR mouth their is no need to evil edit shit.

I loved the moment where the all stars started copying the dance, idk what their thought process was but it was such a wholesome moment for me which distinguished the difference in K-side and C-side bc I can see why the K-side didn't copy the dance as it was a benefit but the C-side copying it made it seem like they wanna compete with others at their best kinda thing.

even before the weight comment, since episode 2, i had been thinkin... wow they're really mentioning looks a lot more for the c-side. strange... like it was already starting to make me a lil uncomfortable. then that just made me actually disgusted. ++ ngl i'm TIIIRED of hearing about "evil editing" constantly. for the judges & the trainees. narratives are pushed on every single reality show ever, of course. but jfc, sometimes people just say/do stupid shit, not every single thing is an "evil edit".

Apparently there was a whole discussion about weight management (health) for dancing and only the weight comments were left in. If that's true than I would be really pissed as a Mentor because it makes them look horrible.

Just saw that Hanyu from Boystiry went on Live and said it was all evil editing. JJ was apparently super nice and talked with them a lot and they wanted to give them more Stars but Production didn't allow it.... Wow Mnet...

That last 'elmination' wasn't based off star creators votes at all. It was based off fancams, something mnet did NOT notify their viewers. They had already eliminated trainees prior to the first episode being aired, but still had us able to vote for them on mnet plus, essentially having our votes void. The c group also performed a chinese song for a kpop audience so no sht they had way less views. Also not sure if you know, this was originally supposed to be 2 separate shows for 2 separate groups. One that would promote in korea (thus speaking korean IS a must) while the other would promote in China (speaking Chinese is a must.). The trainees signed up for the show accordingly to which languages they spoke/ where they wanted to promote. But that all changed bc apparently the Chinese company who want support to debut Chinese group pulled out because they didn't reach an agreement with mnet, making them have to merge them and debut them as a korean group. So next episode you will be getting a lot of evil edits of Chinese trainees not understanding korean, when they never signed up to do so.

Each group started with 80 trainees making them 160 in total, which is insanity. 52 out 80 k trainees made the merge. 28 out of 80 c trainees made the merge :). All of planet c's 1 Stars were eliminated unlike k, and all of c's now 2 Stars consist of previous c All Stars talent wise. Binghua was a 1 star and got sent home but he had THE HIGHEST c trainee fancam after anxin (c center) so yeah, for c group, they rigged as much as possible to send as many of them home. Cus no disclosure of how these eliminations were made number wise were disclosed. And just the 52 to 28 ratio is crazy, esp knowing all of c groups 1 Stars can annihilate k groups 1 Stars BC c groups one Stars are literally just the few 2 stars that remained along aide more all stars.

Wooow, I'm glad the Boy story member said themselves that this was a bit of evil editing because I was just giving JaeJoong his props last episode only to then hear him say this nonsense . The unfortunate truth is it didn't even sound super far-fetched because as a 2nd gen idol you grew up in this harsh training system where it's okay to say things like that to people. The disappointing part was that I would have hoped that would make him NOT say it to future generations but more often than not people actually repeat cycles of what was done to them. Anyways this is all a moot point if they're saying conversation wasn't really like that.

I really really like that moment as well some of the eliminated contestants had mentioned it on live and they did say that the all Stars were ignoring the mentors telling them to stop because they were trying to help the lower stars out. So sweet.

This has been amongst the saddest episodes for me so far. I hope I don't have to complain about it all season but I just want to get a couple things off my chest regarding some of the production differences between the K planet and C planet that I am not fond of. * Last episode on K Planet we saw like 15 or so additional auditions... This episode we saw 6-7. A lot of what was missing in C was good/comparable to what was shown in K so idk why (well I do but...). The accommodations seem worse in planet C. Like there's less people to a room but the rooms themselves seem way smaller/not as nice. Maybe now that they've merged and they're all in the same location they will have similar rooms hopefully. * I thought it was really unnecessary to make it different how they got to call home. planet K got facetime and they got the photo booth but also they had to get off the call quicker if they were a lower star. I'm not upset at having a benefit if you have a higher amount of stars but I don't think talking to your family more should be one. And most egregious of all out of 160 trainees we have 80 (50%) going to the merged competition. 52 (65%) from planet K and only 28 (35%) from Planet C. It's truly egregious. And trust me when I say it's not just "there happened to be more people with no potential to improve in planet C". I made the effort to watch all of the full cam performances because I knew they were going to do this. They didn't show so many talented people and just eliminated them. There are people from Planet C who should have made it over people from Planet K who are still there. And this is no dislike of the planet K trainees. I don't want to see them all gone either. It just doesn't seem justified and it feels really unfair. They should have done 40/40. All right that's it for this post my next ones are just going to be about the episode.

Im happy to hear thats what it is! And im glad the Boys Story member spoke about it! I have never understood why Mnet does the "evil editing" it just makes everyone, including the program, and channel have a bad wrap. But I guess they can't stop because people always go back to watch

Okay so I wasn't tripping about seeing less and the rooms seeming different. I didn't want to look that deep into it but I'm glad to see other people call out the differences cause it's not cool. I thought the same with the facetime smh! I did not peep the differences of the total from each side though they definitely should have done 40 40!

I mean, everyone is just cogs in the wheel fr. Idk, if it's normal for people to be harsh about things like that in the industry and there's outrage online, I could see PR telling BoyStory to make a statement. I think I'm around the nahh that's what they said and including international fans in that they just have to take the backlash on the chin cause it is a wtf. I'd still be like damn if he was actually overweight and showing signs of struggle or fatigue, but bro was 3 star chillin...

Oh really?! I thought it was based on star creators votes like the K side. They need to be upfront with things like that, I get making the small changes but that's not really small... and it goes into all of that realm of conversation with vote tampering cause how are they already eliminated but the illusion of being able to vote is still there :/ . I heard after starting it that it was supposed to be 2 separate shows, 2 groups. That's wack, I imagine preparing a show of this scale is work, but maybe more prep time before airing could have gotten some kinks out

*I know you can't watch full cams for every performance (And really you shouldn't have to) but I'm glad you checked out some of these just to give you a sense of the general talent level. I do understand that the show cannot possibly show them all full but maybe we needed some more compilation segments or something. *Re: chk chk boom performance full cam. they did them pretty dirty with that edit 😭 it wasn't perfect but they made it seem so crazy. Based on this plus Dong Hong Hai (although he's getting the better edit) my feeling is that they were more interested in having a few season 1 contestants back so that they could do this type of segment regardless of how well they do. *I don't think Boy Story is disbanded although some companies will do this thing where they never disband the group but they just give them no activities. I agree I don't know why JYP never even really tried to promote them in Korea they've had a couple Korean versions of their songs but nowhere near the type of push that the company could have given them. I also really don't know what the Chinese market is like. They don't use YouTube so seeing 450k views on YT for a Chinese artist doesn't signal as bad for me and I don't know how we would gauge their popularity in China. *Honestly Lim Jack got set up for failure. After one month of training IDK if he was even ready for a survival show. Some inexperienced trainees do well in this pressure cooker environment but he definitely should never have been in all star. Maybe in one-star he could have learned at his current skill level but even then alongside the culture clash he's probably better off training outside this show. Still a standout personality though. P.s We simultaneously yelled out loud "you guys put him there!!!" when they were questioning why he was in all star. They piss me off so bad. #freeJasperfromAnthony'styranny *Sexy guy is a weird one because his talent is fine as far as the show goes but everything else attitude-wise is sooooo weird. I kind of think the judges are being extra hard on him. Like I don't think that his signal song performance warranted going down to one star but at the same time why is he here he doesn't really seem to be someone who wants to be in a group? *I hate to say it like this and I hope I'm not stirring up a fight but neither the C or K group signal song center trainees have really 'popped' for me yet. They're both stable enough, I can't say that they don't deserve to be all star or anything but I feel like I'm missing that star quality energy. This is my most recent vote list (today) but it's been shifting around. Chen Bo Wen Nian Bo Heng Lee Leo Kang Woojin Yoon Min He Xin Long Park Dong gyu Sun Heng You I could easily keep voting for 16 people if we include the amount of people I like and still have my eye on. I know splitting or rotating your votes is not considered good practice but I really want to and I definitely voted at different times for people like Sangwon (honestly I only stopped cuz I think he'll be all right), Chen Kai Wen, Jiang Fan, Kang Min, Junseo, Fan Zhe Yi... The list goes on it's really hard.

not like it matters now but they actually showed how the scores were calculated they didn't translate it within the subs though it was 70% master evaluations + 30% youtube views and likes. scores are calculated for all 160 contestants regardless if you are k or c and basically the top 80 advanced to the merge. basically unless you have a pretty good master evaluation it would be hard to rank high even if your decent views are decent. also not sure if you noticed but the average views on the k fancams were significantly higher than the c fancams so it made sense why most c trainees got cut/bumped down to a lower star. not fair but it was logical and they didn't rig anything. after the produce scandal they wouldn't do that lol but they would do as much as they can to influence the viewers/sabotage the contestants additionally i did felt like the masters on the c side evaluated them sticter (hence probably lower scores compared to K) you can see this since they even had to adjust some ranks just to balance it out for the signal song video

The comment by the judge pissed me off so bad, like could you just not. Thankfully Li Zi Hao seems like the kind of person whos rounded enough in himself that the only opinion on his body he cares about is his own. He looks healthy, thats all that matters.
