LETSGOOOO I’ll comment back when I watch but this season is looking good, from what I’ve seen looks like a good mix of the classic smtm and a bit new and a before comment they made a separate show for the revival round of some of these eliminated contestants(smtm subs subbing it too) I forget if you knew

Royal44 is twenty lol he started at 16 but is just now blowing up, bro the comment about why they go on here is facts, I always see people saying why are they here well for views listens and more notoriety, or even just to push them selves in a new environment so many people have built careers or pushed further with these shows so I think it’s cool to see, you can’t tell me you’ve heard of some of these known names without either being a khip hop listener or shows like this, I’m looking forward to millimax love me a good singing rapper, his viral song is fire. Hao from TNX formally known as the new six you’ve reacted to them in the past around debut and so on (hopefully untell get revived in the revival match) yes tag was on Highschool rapper 4 good to see him back, one pact is good, 200 without a beat sounds off to me but her songs with her crew sikoo are fire, she just signed to aomg. Depending on the rules seasons either had judges picking the contestant or the contestant picked the team, most often it was the contestant pickin. I do like how fast they are getting through everything but man it’s always the gags that take so long at least the second round get here faster than last season

Crucial star is good but he def had to be trollin applying like this lmao he’s also a part of the revival show, I think that they are expanding and not caring if it fully in Korean anymore, I do think the global contestants will have them put in Korean lines if they make it further though

The yaksha or rap battle showed at the end is the revival round they turned into a mini show, it’s separate so idk if you want to watch the full thing when it releases or just the performances but judges for that are loopy, homies, kaogaii, reddy, apro, david yungin Kim, Ian kash, and rad museum, with only 3 eliminated rappers getting revived for the next round

I always feel so excited in these first few rounds but I rarely make it to the end of a season. Nevertheless I enjoyed this episode so let's see if I keep that momentum cuz there's a good few people here that I'm interested in.

Because of the SMTM Hiatus and the decline of viewership of hip-hop related things in Korea they had to get the audience attached as fast as possible and the easiest and best ways to do that is make them fall for the producers. I enjoyed ep 2 a lot more but get why they had to approach ep 1 differently.

Watching this episode is making me realize how much I crave for some of these rappers to have a unique flow and delivery. Not saying that they’re not talented but I feel like a lot of them are following trends and aren’t really speaking their truth. Some times it can come off a bit gimmicky. I’m biased but I would also love to see some folks bring a more old school flavor to the show.

ok ngl i don't be watching these at all but i THINK I saw someone from the too crew mentioned Junhyuk from treasure box was gonna be in this season so I will attempt to tune in for once lol!! edit: based on my comment, i started this ep 33 mins ago but am only 18 mins in... was trying so hard not to laugh then you bust out laughing so I lost it "I'M BARELY WALKING FREE" 😭

Not that anyone asked but here’s my thoughts as someone who has never watched SMTM, is absolutely NOT locked in, and only recognized a handful of the producers/participants: - I would've handed out necklaces to: 1. Zene the Zilla 2. Millimax 3. TNX Hwi 4. Khundi Panda 5. KP 6. TWLV 7. OnePact Tag 8. SKINZ Kwon Ilang 9. Sunhye 10. Microdot 11. Mworaenghamaen 12. Ash B 13. 200 14. Osun 15. Haon (This is not a ranking, I just thought it would be easier to separate the names with numbers lol). - I liked Zene's lyrics and KP's energy. Sunhye def needed that 3rd try but I'm glad she made it. For Ash, the second part was a lot stronger, and to me she did better than Chio so I'm mad she didn't make it bc there were a few people who were handed necklaces I didn't agree with or found questionable lol. For 200, I like her voice and I liked how she sounded on that YT video so I would have asked for a 2nd verse or just pushed her through to hear her potential. For Osun, I didn't like his audition as much as the older clips of his rap sounded, so I wanna hear more from him too. I did like #5 and #6 of the viral audition videos too but dang.. 1-6 all got eliminated 🥲 - Also maybe I'm seeing things but Haon with this hair style kept reminding me of Bobby, especially the eyes and side profile, I just could not unsee it the entire time, but he did so well. Despite the explanations, I am still kinda like ??? why are Haon AND Milli here but eh at least it's 2 more people I recognize the names of! - Personally, I liked Microdot’s audition. Putting the debt controversy in his audition addresses the elephant in the room and by taking control of the narrative first, he is IDEALLY setting himself up to be judged by his talent rather than judged by his past. I don’t know the entire story so I’m just basing my thoughts on what was presented in the show. I enjoyed his cadence and the honesty/vulnerability in the lyrics. His backstory kind of reminded me of something I recently saw. Basically an idol was getting bashed in articles for being 5 minutes late but turns out the event organizer did not cue her properly so she was “late” to the event despite having arrived 10 minutes early. Maybe I’m too lenient but I don’t think being 5 minutes late should warrant a negative article being written about you and your character (obviously, different case with Microdot) but it made me reflect.. since this idol was being picked apart for something so minimal… I can only imagine the amount of hate and negativity that Microdot endured for being associated with the debt controversy his parents had, since he was in the public eye… anyways TLDR - I enjoyed Microdot’s performance and seriously cannot believe that he had to pay both financially and socially for his parent’s mistakes, but glad he made it to the show!
