There were so many funny meme songs in kpop that were made just for fun like this one, but with the whole "cringe culture" we have now there is really a lot less fun in music now.

Nina

It's a song that they made just for fun on their debut and it's actually the company that decided to release that song Cortis were surprise because it was only for fun at first😂 but hey they be coloring outside the lines that's for sure🙌🏽

Karpio

They need their character development 🤣like they NEED to look back at this in 8 years ans regret it and cringe but then embrace it like GOT7 with Just Right

geral

LMAOOO not gnarly’s sister, if im not mistaken the guys said that they didn’t make this seriously, it came up just like a fun song while working for the album and they thought hybe would just discard this one, even they were surprised when they told them that they were going to release the song tbh i also feel that ycc is VERY cortis, cool track to elevate the energy, obviously not their best but is fun for a concert

kenz

STOP😭😭the track is so goofy which they said it’s meant to be and even the members talked abt how they didn’t know the label wanted them to release it until then but it’s not even as bad as people were making it out to be. I personally think it’s fun track and they seem to be promoting it a lot on tiktok. I’ve seen a lot of dancers love it and do the challenge for it too

kenz

If people were barking for txt, they’re def gonna yodel for cortis😹😹😹

“Flopping” is crazyyy. I don’t love the song but getting the context of them making this the night they debuted as a fun little celebration made me like it more since it’s just supposed to be a fun unserious song. I compared it to internet girl by katseye I love that song but they both have one part that my ears can’t adjust to… that baby and the yodeling lol

I think people overreacted initially to this song. after all the short form content we have gotten of it, is it my cup of tea, eh? the yodel takes me out every single listen, but I don't think it's trash, will it be a song I want to listen to daily? hell no, and that's okay. one thing about musicians/artists is that every now and then something absurd gets released. I'm just thinking about that absolute meme of a song Justin Bieber released, I Feel Funny, or even Jin's Super Tuna. and like you said, it sounds still very CORTIS. from their explanation of the company basically blindsiding them with this being released officially, I do think it was never supposed to be something to be taken as seriously as the people of the interwebs are taking it... but this is K-pop and everything is supposed to be a commercially attractive release. there is no winning when you just want to have some fun creating whatever tf you want to. I do think it's wayyyyy too early in their careers to making such a divisive release. but then again they had lullaby on their debut ep, which not a lot of people fw either

i was at the nba crossover and was so in shock at them performing a new track that i didn’t fully register the song until later. i actually like it a lot now and the more i listen to it on their tiktoks the more it gets stuck in my head specially that chorus . i think its fun and unserious and rlly hype for shows.

LMFAOOO THE TITLE. Folks were flaming me on twt but lowk I was bumping to this as soon as I heard it. I liked it, and not just bc it's Cortis. Its a fun song, with a catchy hook and is the type of song I would love to hear in concert. But I also recognize that I'm someone who has trained their ears to vibe to pretty much most music, so this song to me sounds really tame. But I also feels like it speaks to the artistry, because if you're not making bullshit atleast once or twice in your career are you really an artist? I get why people don't like it, it's different from what they've released so far. However I foresee this song becoming a classic in their discography

Amyyy✨

This song is so CORTIS they are literally coloring outside the lines. The fact that this is a fun song they did before debuting makes it way more meaningful. This song hypes me up lowkey!

KK

Idk why anyone’s surprised about a group coloring outside the lines when that’s their name 😭 the funniest thing is that it’s already a dance trend on tiktok and people are already switching up and liking it 💀

a2r

Haha I agree, I don’t get many TikTok’s on the kpop side on my main viewing account but I seen some people criticizing this pretty harshly ofc saying they’re flops 😭🤣

a2r

I think dropping something this early, with their personality and direction will just strengthen their image and fan base tbh. The story is there and it’s fun , I think it’s good and will be like txt cat and dog - might even get live stage play like they did here

Ivy

bro the yodel is so HYPE i love this track bro its just a fun hype song its so playful😭

Ivy

if you go on their tiktok they are dancing to it a whole bunch and you can hear the actual studio version it’s so good

Hilma Syarifa

Im sorry i love cortis but the song young cretor crew is a pass for me

to add some context (said by the members themselves) : they made this song the night after their debut cuz they were super excited abt having finally debuted, even though they were tired they just decided to make this fun song and they said they thought it would NEVER get released until bighit told them that the song made it to the 2nd album and they were very very shocked abt it 😭 the reason why is bc when they were in the recording studio they said they were so tired and the session was a whole mess so they just decided to record anything on this track and call it a day😭 one of keonho's line in his first part literally says smth like "ever since i tasted french fries i became a french fries fan" (cuz it's his favorite food). also the chorus lyrics are "teppanyaki on my Mac i go youngkeukeu" teppanyaki is a dish thats cook on iran plate and Mac look like an iron plate it's a pun abt them saying they're cooking music on their mac and then they go "old generation call us, they're youngkeukeu. i laughed so hard i was like youngkeukeu" and then "not yodelayheehee but youngkeukeu" so yeah the song was really just for them and for fun😭😭 it's good though i love it it's a vibe (sorry for such a long comment!)

It was worse when I heard it for the first time now its fun. They made this song in the day they debut. And in a recent interview James said they grew a lot in this six months and the new album will have better choreo sound and visuals. So it's good to have a stand point how the music they made the day they debuted before experience stuff and now. Martin also said they made this song for fun and he didn't even know if it was gonna be in the album, thats why I think they released first. I believe in the boys.

I dont stan cortis and whenever they land in my FYP on tiktok or my TL on twitter, they're always doing some goody shit which always amuses me. So based on that I knew they had a very playful personamity and a very "unserious" type of humour. When I first heard the song, I didnt hate it. I just found it FUN and unserious because that's the image CORTIS always gave me. I feel like people forget that artist can banter on their songs. Tuna by Jin is a very good example.
