Alright, I can't believe after 13-14 years, I have finally seen this movie lol. I feel like I missed out on a lot of inside jokes back then because I didn't watch this. Thanks for voting for the movies and letting me venture out into some other media to watch with you guys, I appreciate it a lot!

Random since I just started watching your reaction and you might already mention it later in the reaction, but just in case you don’t know… Fun fact!!! Brittany Snow (who plays Chloe) is the voice actor for Namine in Kingdom Hearts!

a2r

Didn't know that!!

sereiiin

fun fact Ester Dean (who plays Cynthia Rose) is a singer/songwriter irl and wrote a handful of Rihanna’s earlier hit songs (like S&M @ 48:45 )and wrote for other big pop artists

Okay I’m just gonna edit this with my thoughts while I watch: - Yes collegiate acapella is a thing - You’re right, her dad is a college professor there - WAIT - did you recognize McLovin?! At the beginning of the auditions when he was explaining how they worked -Cynthia Rose is portrayed by Ester Dean (singer songwriter producer); how I knew her was she made “Drop It Low” -The cup song that Beca did at auditions was crazy viral I swear you could not escape that song in 2012 everyoneeee was doing it (at least in my world lol so many kids would do it at school!!) -Boone’s farm is a wine brand I believe -Right.. I haven’t seen anyone use one C for Becca until this movie Edit (1hr10m into watching) -This show has some crazy one liners FOR SURE 😭 -Kimmy Jin is a MESS man I was holding out hope for her in the beginning -Amy really had such great comedic timing in this movie I love rewatching for some of her lines -I loveeee the acapella emcees ngl

I've unfortunately never actually watched Superbad lol, I am aware of Mclovin tho - but yeah I noticed the same actor from the audition process lol.

Amyyy✨

It was definitely a ride but such a fun watch!

Omg you haven’t seen Superbad either?! I’m glad you’ve at least seen the 21 Jump Street movies :) TBH I’ve seen all the Pitch Perfect movies and this is my fave one (I think there’s only PP2 & PP3 left). Thank you for checking this out btw; I laughed and enjoyed this movie rewatch so much, excited for you to check out other movies!!

This is also actually my first time watching this. A bit surprising since I was there for the whole Glee/Pentatonix popularity explosion that this movie was a part of. I don't know why I just never thought it was for me (part of it that was that that cup song challenge was absolutely everywhere for like 2 years after this movie came out and I was so irritated 🤣). Surprisingly though I enjoyed it. it was cringe but purposely so and I actually laughed a lot throughout definitely agree that mid-2010s movies have a specific charm.

a2r

I've seen that Pentatonix name before is that a music artist?

mssmercedes

Oh yeah, very popular acapella group. They won a singing competition show at that time, they had a lot of famous cover videos and original songs it was a whole craze. https://youtu.be/LRP8d7hhpoQ

You should watch Glee 😂

Hailey

their most popular cover is Bohemian Rhapsody and Hallelujah. Acapella, and amazing.
