They've done the smtm judge performances in every smtm season, but it has been a bit lacklustre in the past few. The scale was a lot bigger in past past seasons, such as season 6.

Just for some context, hwi-min (lil moshpit) is known as the best producer right now, not because of what he did as groovyroom, but what he's done as lil moshpit. He's won producer of the year, album of the year and song of the year with Sik-K. The LOV3 song is from Sik-k's and Lil Moshipt's album K-Flip+. He's basically like the trendsetter of Korea, with Hukky trailing not too far behind.

I’m confused on how they drop a contestant like that who showed zero flaws. Maybe it’s because of his character / entertaining appeal ? Though he performs solid and good musicality he’s not as turnt up, expressive etc as someone who isn’t as good like Double Down.

i kinda get why nobody picked YLN since the judges failed him in round 2 already and he probably didnt show anything new this episode kinda feels like yaksha was just weirdly structured but yeah HOW did Loco x Gray pass on Wez Atlas when foggy and mason home were RIGHT there😭 but i do understand jeffrey white over him on the jay park team ngl actually looking forward to the J-Tong Hukky team they could be really unique

i get what you're saying but even that wouldn't make sense because all of the judges were praising him every round that he always brings something new to the table like a different energy/style. someone as versatile as him is so much more valuable in a group than many of the other contestants.

I might be wrong on this. Maybe people do get the episodes earlier. But from what I know, the new episodes are shown live and people watch it while it's going live. That or the other reason could be MNET & TVING YouTube videos showcasing it.

NGL, I've seen some wild picks with team selections, but this made me feel like a label made sure that crew would make it. I'm just saying. Yeah they, (MNET) seem to change the rules and missions around a lot these past few seasons, so the confusion is understood.

Yea Wez and KP being eliminated made me sick as well, both are so talented. Just to throw in though, KP did get signed to AOMG back in mid-February, so hopefully more is coming from him soon.

Sucks they spent the last half of the ep not showing performances but I made a playlist and put it in the request for all the performances I could find, was really rooting for Wez but from the snippets I heard songs are fire nonetheless and charting pretty well , gonna have to look out for more wez and kp in the future

Just finished watching and I’m so sad Wez got eliminated he was shinning in every stage. I understand that they are looking for specifics since the performances are starting but NOOO. Since everyone is taking about the elimination I want to praise the producers performance every single one of them did so good!!! Different styles but omg amazing!!

pre-smtm, okashii weren't super big in korea. they're under swings' label which got them some popularity, but their streams + followers on instagram + mv views weren't super high. since smtm started, though, they've blown up so so much! their songs have been on the spotify viral top 50 south korea chart, they've been gaining thousands of followers (tens of thousands for raf) and have just overall become infinitely more popular, which has been incredible to watch as someone who has been a fan of theirs since 2023 :)

Gyu-jeong (the other half of Groovy) is currently more focused on DJing and electronic music. He said he's always wanted to explore that area, while Hwi-min (lil moshpit) is more focused on Hip-hop. Hip Hop, in general, isn't doing too well in Korea right now (in terms of popularity), so it's more known by the "locals"/hip-hop fans. But Hip-hop has been great all year round, last year, where artists have been more focused on their music itself, releasing great albums. Also, to clarify, the 'trendsetter of Korea' was meant for within Hip-hop only, not in music as a whole.

😅 Whew! Finally caught up. I will say whatever production choices are being made this season I've been liking in terms of episode length and structure it's been helping the episodes not drag for me. I didn't have a problem with how most of this episode played out except for that elimination right at the end that was a crazy fumble. Especially since Wez absolutely would have shined on these produced songs. This was the first episode where Royal 44 did anything of interest to me. I've always been able to see that his style would sound much better on a studio track but his performances have not been exciting me enough to actually go check one out. Now I think I will. Otherwise even some of the unexpected combos from this team mission I'm not mad at it gives people a chance to prove they can do something a little different.

Also since you kept mentioning Bobby I saw a repost that he was replying to a fan about SMTM recently. They were basically asking him when he's going to come on as a mentor and he said he'll come anytime they ask him (praying that was a hint for next season or even in appearance this season). They also asked if you'd ever compete again and he said nah it would be unbalanced because he's too OP lmao.

also the abrupt ending had me DYING bc wow I feel the same!!! Wez so versatile and solid. Like, I honestly would have seen him fit in with other teams more than say Royal44 because it seems that Royal44 is real picky selective with beats and keys that songs are in. I can imagine Wez in place of Royal44 on J-Tong's team and blend better with Double Down, for instance, but I'll continue watching tmrw and see

Wes should've stayed! If I wasn't watching for Milli, I would have dropped the show, that's insane, he's one of the more versatile in the sense of rap, singing, and lyrics. Idk much about his producing skills, but he is fire, disappointed frfr.
