MY FAVORITE PART OF SMTM BEGINS!!

My top 3 is probably Ssak, Money Checks, Tik Tock and honorary mention of string cheese that definitely hit.

I had to step away and film this in parts because I was in the middle of cooking and had to make a 3 hr FB marketplace pickup the following morning. Either way, we still vibing, can't wait for the next episode!! no manners was probably my least favorite of the songs. didn't like dkay or flowsik's parts very much (plus, their two parts have weird mixing on the studio version). loved the zene and tray b part. jeffrey was my personal favorite verse !!! so happy he got to shine here.

i liked money checks but not quite as much as i thought i would. young shooter was the right choice to go home here, but i did actually like his verse (esp more than double down's lol). nowimyoung had one of the worst verses but made up for it with the hook + suiting the sound the best. fleeky and royal 44 were great

Omg bless I can watch it with you to actually finish. I legit stopped watching this ep on my own as soon as the first elimination bc I was still annoyed thinking about the end of the last ep 🤦🏽‍♀️ let me go ahead and finish this before I get spoiled though

ssak was soooo good. i actually hated the beat at first but over the past week it's grown on me so much 😭. osun and mason were my top two verses - i didn't think either of them would be as good as they were on this beat, so i was pleasantly surprised. milli was great but nothing about her verse surprised me lol. oxynova suited the song really well and should NOT have gone home here. foggy's verse sucked icb they didn't send him home

my ranking of the songs would be 1.Money Checks 2.Ssak 3.Tick Tock 4.No Manners Ssak was amazing but money checks is just more my style . havent heard a hukky beat that i didnt enjoy yet fr. i guessed every elimination except for nosun even tho i knew there was a chance he would get eliminated but Junhyuk felt really underwhelming to me this episode. But they did use their priority selection on him so i didnt have my hopes up. Tick Tock is actually doing the best on the charts but Ssak is the most streamed out of them on spotify.

My personal favorite was ssak tbh, I loved masons verse and hook on the song, Oxynovas verse was great as well. But my favorite verse from among all the songs was definitely Marvs 🔥🔥🔥, he killed it 💯

I didn't watch the last episode so I was surprised to not see Wez Atlas here.. Ssak would've been a great song for him ugh what a shame. and I don't agree with all of their eliminations too ngl

Well some eliminations were unexpected I truly want to see how the teams are going to shine on future performances/challenges. I’m going to honestly Double down does have that entertainment factor when we performs and is fun to watch but it is always 50/50 for me. Definitely SSAK was my fav also no manners was up there for me, royal 44 stood out in the best way I truly loved his performance here and the black hair suits him lmao money checks~money checks~ money checks~

Really good episode and some crazy good songs. Think my personal order is Ssak, No Manners, Money Checks, and Tik Tock. Nothing wrong with any of them, Tik Tock just not my kind of wheelhouse ig. As for who I expected elims to be: Team Zic - Either Marv or Raf, but Raf is growing on me more as time goes by. Was really sad to see NOSUN go home, but he is under Ambition now so hopefully we get some stuff from him soon. Team Coray - I did expect either Foggy or Oxy, so not surprised for me personally. What the producers meant by the same imo is not his lyrics themselves but he seems very stuck in this like flow/rhythm of his and while it does work I think he just needs to flesh out his tools a bit more. Team Tongki - Either Shooter or Double Down, but I have since learned that Korea as a whole (at least in the Hip Hop scene) apparently really enjoy Double Down's character and like simple flow. Shooter has been my main like "Why is this person here" out of all the contestants, even if Hukky really likes him. Team Mobum - Zene or Dkay, but I am really happy Zene survived. Love his music and flow, just normally contestants that have come on SMTM multiple times (Zene did 2 through 8 and now 12) go home early as producers want to show off new people. Ok just circling back since I finished the ep: this whole episode was legitimately just the producers eliminating all the rappers I was rooting for lmaoooooooo I will try to be neutral for the rest of the eps bc this was horrible 😭 the songs were good though! Also this episode FINALLY had me seeing the individual appeal of NowImYoung, MasonHome, Fleeky Bang, and Marv so I’m glad about that at least. Of course I could see they had their own skill and charm but their performances this round really got me to pay attention to them. TBH I’m gonna be in denial about the eliminations bc this show just keeps getting rid of rappers I would’ve kept 🤦🏽‍♀️ My ranking for the songs & my fave verse for that song in parentheses: 1. Money Checks (Fleeky Bang) 2. TICK TOCK (Nosun) 3. No Manners (Jeffrey White) 4. SSAK (OSUN)

Team GrayxLoco had the best song/chemistry imo! I had it on repeat BUTT I can’t help thinking this would have went absolutely CRZYY if Wez was there 🥲

Another really solid episode, I liked all four songs my order would be Ssak, Money Checks, Tick Tock, No Manners. For The eliminations Oxy did really well but for some reason as soon as they described the person going as someone who had a tiny bit less impact on the details I said his name. So there was subconsciously something there that was absolutely solid but lacked punch and I say that as someone who almost always prefers his style of melodic rap. I guess it is that thing about how different are you than what you've shown before. Nosun was also super solid and this was probably my favorite performance of his I think this is less a matter of Nosun doing bad but instead Marv really impressing them and saving himself at the last minute.

Right I totally agree with the comment about Nosun vs Marv! I think Marv just surprised them and showed them what he can truly do and in that moment, saved himself by pulling through. Nosun was sooo good though, my personal fave verse on Tick Tock 😩

I'm gonna write down my predictions before each team's elimination and then my personal ranking of the songs at the end! For Jay x Moshpit I think DKAY is going to be eliminated, I just had a gut feeling based on his lyrics and the way that the producers gave Flowsik a killing point to the performance, which was really successful imo! I have a bias for Zene and thought the back and forth between him and Tray B was a really nice touch. I appreciated the arrangement Hwimin and Jay had in mind prior to approaching this song, which can be really good for some teams. For Hukky x T-Jong's team, I liked the mixing of all of their voices I think it was arranged very well and kept my ears interested. I think personally that the repetitive chorus could get old for me pretty quick, even tho repetitive choruses aren't necessarily a miss for me--and I do appreciate that there were new and varying flourishes each time the chorus was sung (with the post-chorus being a plus!). I personally haven't really been a huge fan of NOWIMYOUNG thus far in the show, but he definitely was an integral part to this song. I think I would eliminate Double Down just to narrow down tastes, but I think his rowdy and grating voice on the track really scratches an itch in my brain (in a positive, unexpected way haha). I was also pleasantly surprised to see Royal44's persona crack--like bro you could be more likable when you aren't trying so hard to be cool! I think for Gray x Loco’s team, Ssak was a great song overall! I think the only verse that didn’t blow me away was Foggy’s verse, which is a shame bc I love switch ups and tonal variations in songs like that but idk! It was still a veryyy solid song and I see myself streaming it a lot. After Oxynova getting eliminated, I can see why Gray x Loco eliminated him based on their criteria and they probably saw slightly more potential and uniqueness in Foggy rather than Oxy? For Crush x Zico’s team, I just so happened to listen to Tick Tock on accident on my discover weekly and I’ve been obsessed with it since tbh! I always return to the song mainly bc it’s either Marv’s or Haon’s part that gets stuck in my head and then I have to play the song again bahaha. Zico on the chorus is also ofc a huge highlight for the song, his tone is so magnetizing. I wouldn’t even know who to send home from this team, but I would probably send junhyuk?? I’m not sure bc everyone did so good! Marv, Haon, and Raf had my favorite verses. I was really surprised to find out retrospectively that the melodic verse was Marv on this song! I’ll def have to go back to a compilation or smthn to check out his previous verses again bc i don’t recall much before this performance…? He stole the song for me, the melodies and autotune were such ear candy. Song ranking: #1 Tick Tock, Ssak, Money Checks, No Manners
