THEY'RE REALLY BACK BRO!!!

Ppl expect them to make the same music they were making in there 20s as if they aren’t 30. Army’s are so close minded they only want dynamite fake love boy with luv sounds. But we all know how versatile bts is so to think they’d stick to the same genre is insane.

Jay

Like animals was already in my top 3 , but hearing it performed live just solidified it as being my favourite. Everyone’s vocals are insane as we know , but Tae was just so different this comeback. Truly love his range . I’m so excited for this new chapter for them !!

hey anthony, it’s been a minute! long comment incoming: i just finished watching your album reaction when you uploaded this, talk about crazy timing. as for interviews, they have an Apple Music interview with Zane Lowe where they talk about the album, it’s really good and worth checking out. they also did a track by track livestream after the album was released, but I’m not sure if that one has been properly subtitled yet because it was live subtitled. i’m sure there will be more to come soon! just on what you were talking about around 38:00, it honestly makes me so frustrated to see certain conversations happening online, especially TikTok and Reddit. i genuinely don’t understand why people can’t just say it wasn’t their vibe and move on, because i’ve seen some lowkey racist talking points. unfortunately, i’ve seen the same thing since i first became a fan in 2017. when DNA was released, people were already talking about the same things that have been talked about over the past few days; that song and album was released almost 10 years ago. i saw a few really good discussions on twitter in regards to the way certain kpop fans respond to change, but i found it interesting how strongly they reacted to this album because for me this sounds so much like them. what is the point of listening to something that doesn’t continue to grow and evolve? how is that fun? despite their sound growing, i played it for my non-army friend and the first thing she said was “bts has such a distinct sound”, so it makes me laugh whenever i do see that topic come up. i honestly love this album so much, it may end up being my favourite bts album, just in terms of versatility and how well produced it is. anyways, i knew you would really enjoy it! it’s probably best to not focus too much on the stuff people are saying online. i’m trying not to get ragebaited by every comment lmao. i’m already seeing people change their opinions after seeing the live performances. bts and their music is always growing and that is what makes them such great artists.

KK

They have the Zane Lowe Apple Music interview, it’s very insightful!

KK

The things is (especially with bts) the social media hate never translates in real life. The tour is still sold out and the album is still breaking records/ critically acclaimed. That’s why I don’t pay much attention to the online discourse

Spendalyn!! Omg, man it’s so cool to see some of you guys pop back up again I remember a handful of yall usernames 😭🖤 I agree with your points and I think it’s wild that this was made in 2 months especially with the range. I feel like this is the tip of the iceberg and it seems as if they’re just trying new stuff and going with what feels right for them so I can’t hate on that even if it doesn’t align with my tastes. If anything I’m just grateful to see what will come of it and how my opinion will change - I’ve been bumping One more night and Fya!! 😭 I’m gonna look into that interview if more of you guys suggest it and we can chat it up!

a2r

Ok so I’m not the only one like UHHHH with V here I’m just like 😮😮

a2r

Solo albums hint towards expression and versatility 😭 coming together why not expect the same.

The concert was free and I think they're the first to perform there. It was blocked off and the Gyeongbokgung palace! Must have been amazing to see in person! You should check out this insta for deets on the fits designed by Songzio https://www.instagram.com/p/DWJeYYojEnP/?igsh=c2o5cWM4dW9sOXA1 They also did an interview with Apple music that was great too! https://youtu.be/LB01v___wO4?si=jjYOxoJbF6D3l7Fd But yeah I've been to a Got7 concert and Jay B was injured so he sat like RM did and did what little movements he could :p This was such a great comback show! I think we all got emotional at the last song ! Definitely shed some tears 🥹💖 About the album yeah on tiktok and insta all I see is negativity! I don't get how people want the same thing!? Like of course it will change! It's supposed to! I like the album and will just enjoy it and block out the negative energy 😊.

l

yes please watch the zane lowe interview !

l

THIS, the charts also say otherwise, so i always think that giving in to the hate is pointless, bts is so loved by many !

Ana

Idk what people are talking about bcs this is my favorite album by bts, maybe bcs of my music taste. This album just shows how they matured in their sound. Did people want them to do popish songs again...

Negativity surrounding the album unfortunately was inevitable. I do think it's just part of the game of being the biggest artist anything you release is going to be met with scrutiny. Of course there will be people who subjectively just aren't vibing with it but there are also people who have been waiting in the wings, salivating to say something bad before even hearing it and so once you have that mindset there's no point in debating musicality or artist growth or anything like that. I'm not on Tik Tok but on Twitter it's been mixed-positive. This show was good vibes I don't think it's meant to be an exact preview of the tour, obviously they'll be performing the new songs but I think there will be way more of them on that set list and they'll always throw in the favorites of course lol this always gets tricky when your discography is this large. The guys sounded great. This album is going to be great on tour because like you said even songs that I wouldn't listen to alone have a perfect stage vibe. I feel like I could tell they were a little bit nervous for the first two songs or so and then they really just fell into their comfort and groove. One thing people have been talking about that I agree with is they approached the choreography a bit different here not just because RM is injured but you can tell there's a strong focus on creating these large 'moments' whether through formations or backup dancers as opposed to doing all-out music show choreography the whole time. I think this is really smart sign that they intend to continue touring for a long time and are being smart about their pacing as they get older.

I don’t use tiktok much but I’ve curated a timeline so good on twitter that all i see are all the accomplishments and records being set/broken by the album. Real army who just love music and love BTS are OBSESSED with this album and I honestly think it’s one of their best. Already triple platinum in my house lol those who get it get it. Besides the hate never translates offline . Happy to see you back reacting to the boys 💜

Love this! And yes, even my timeline on Facebook has been contaminated lately with folks having their debates about Kpop and pointing out BTS specifically looking for reactions and a hive mind mob. They're out here bringing up the cultural appropriation and everything again and it's honestly just so draining to see these topics popping back up on top of the other negativity from the new album. I dunno, I just don't have the energy for it. I'm a simple person and I just love being fed with content, no matter how elaborate or laid back it might be. If they're happy enough with what they're creating to share with us, then we, as Army, should also in turn be happy with what we receive. Like you said, not every song on this project is in my wheelhouse either as far as what I enjoy or a normal everyday basis. I'm not really a house/edm type of gal at all, but there are more elements and complexities woven into these tracks that make them a little more interesting to me, whether it's the melodies they choose to flesh out within it, the smaller aspects of the beats, or even just the stylistic choices they take with their vocals and tones. There is something I can find to appreciate within each song, even if it's not something I'd typically gravitate towards. Like I said before, this album is for music lovers. There's definitely something for everyone, they just have to be willing to open their eyes enough to see it. I think like y'all are saying, a lot of folks really wanted the same recycled sound from BTS and they wanted them coming out the gates a bit harder, but damn, we're all getting older. We can't be proud of them for always doing what they can to break out of those strict guidelines Kpop is based within and being uniquely BTS, but then also want to keep them trapped in a time and a sound that they've chosen to grow out of. Who knows, they may choose to revisit it later on, but they should definitely be allowed to show their growth and the new sides of their artistry that's going to come with it. Let them experiment and let them have fun with it! Enjoy the fact that they're not only able to freely do that, but also that they want to. It doesn't have to be your cup of tea, everything won't be, but don't take away from the work and efforts that they've put in, labeling it as "bad" just because it isn't for you. Can't we all just sit back and appreciate what we're given? 😭💜🤦🏾‍♀️

Amyyy✨

We all grow and seeing them try something new is inspiring. Even if it’s not someone’s taste does not mean they should hate on everything 100% sadly it’s the world we live in and you just can’t change someone’s mind. But wow I CANT BELIEVE THEY ARE BACK. Super emotional on the last song and lowkey I was waiting for Please too!! So excited for their concert!

I haven't checked out the Apple Music interview they did but I have heard good things about it. so I would be down to check that out together. also I just started to tune out all the hate about this album, like there are critics where they acknowledge that this album isn't for them or they are satisfied with what was released but to listen to just one song and call the album horrible is just annoying. I have seen so many people just clip one part of a song that they don't like and start calling it horrible which is crazy to me because honestly this album has a little bit of everything for me. looking back to their releases, it makes sense they would release something like this too. anyways I love this album so ion really care for what others got to say.

Alyson

The Apple Music interview was really good!! I think you should def check it out!! I wanted to share my thoughts regarding your recent exposure to the negativity on TikTok surrounding this comeback. One girl said that real fans of BTS wouldn't be vocalizing their dislike/hate/ "disappointment" in the album, and I agree. By doing that, you are discrediting the artists that they grew into, and totally ignoring how proud THEY are of their work. I think it's a lot of haters going out of their way to disguise themselves as fans to throw around hate. (not all, you don't have to vibe with every song). I don't even know how some people have the time.

Alyson

I must get tickets to their concert. I can't NOT see these performances in person!!

Alyson

I would love to watch the Docu w/ you when it comes out!!

mssmercedes

Same, really hoping I don't have to cave to scalpers but I have until August and by hell or high water I'll be there.

Alyson

I've been keeping my eyes out pretty much everywhere!!

ilays

Swim actually became one of my faves after the performance. It was so beautiful and Hobi's part with the camera panning around with him was so magical. I also finally watched the MV post-live and, was it lowkey a thirst trap? or is it just me being delusional over them lmaoo

Caroline.E

Omg ant I loved this performance! I already loved the album but this made me love it even more! I’m happy that you enjoyed the performance! I’m also so excited to see how they will preform the other songs they didn’t get to here at their concert cause I need to hear the whole album live ( i assume they will preform the whole album at the concert cause I read somewhere that it will be +3h long). OT7 is really back like they never left! 🥹💜 And joon partially tore a ligament so the doctors told him to be careful for a couple of weeks. Praying for his speedy recovery 🙏 but when he was jumping on 1 leg everyone (me included) yelled at him to sit his ass down 😂 and for me like animals sound like it should be in twilight (love it still tho of course) And I read somewhere that the reason it was only 1h is cause they only were allowed to preform there for 1h when they asked for permission cause it is the plaza in the middle of the city. They literally had to shut the whole place down for this performance. They also literally built the stage for bts in front of the temple (so yeah that’s actually the temple behind them) cause I'm pretty sure that bts is the FIRST people to ever preform there. And I also saw that there were over 250k there that day watching. And yeah it was free! If I remember correctly people entered a raffle to get a seat there. And btw when watching it live the subs were so bad so I'm happy that I now can understand what they were saying after watching it with you again 😂 They also have their interview with Apple Music/ Zane Lowe where they talk about their album and other things! There’s the documentary and the GQ video was fun too! And yeah I agree with you about that artists should be able to grow! They literally tried so many different genres and have grown so much, I don’t get it why people feel like that it’s bad and that bts should stick with their older stuff (btw this album is like a more mature version of their older albums in my opinion). It was so hard being on social media the first day cause I only got the negative side from TikTok, now thankfully there’s only the positive (many also switched sides after this performance)! Thank you so much for this reaction! I’m so excited to see what more bts will bring and your reactions to them!

nika

I think you should definitely react to the Netflix documentary, I would love to see your thoughts on it. Or watch it on your own time, either way it was really nice to see. Also, I see people already commented but the Zane Lowe interview was amazing. ❤️
