i didn't like animal at all watching the episode, but it's top three for me in terms of recorded tracks. great replay value (even though i don't care for e sens). i don't think he deserved to make it into the final though lol

part of the reason they're so surprised is bc e sens has had some legal troubles (marijuana) and that typically would totally disqualify someone from ever appearing on smtm (or broadcast tv in general). not sure what happened to make it so e sens could appear here, but it's pretty cool

i did Not like junhyuk's stage. i just absolutely hated the chorus. a shame because i've generally liked his performances so far, and i anticipate liking his post-show releases. the only song from the live perfomances/recorded songs (including the team mission but not including the finals) that i did not playlist

E-Sens is an OG and legend I hear in the k hip hop scene, he was a part of a duo with Simon Dominic, though he was also one to get in trouble with marijuana, people still highly regard him, it was also a surprise because e-Sens himself criticized smtm and said smtm was gimmicky hip hop, people were saying just like justthis he changed his mind about the rappers here lol

raf not making the top 5 also broke me too icl. his edit on the show just seemed like the edit of a finalist.... and the song was GREAT!!!!! top 3 for me in terms of songs. i do understand why he didn't make it - in a way, he felt the most disconnected from his feature. If you look at the most recent LNGSHOT video you uploaded, a few others and I explained to you about E SENS because he was featured for a few seconds. E SENS appearing on SMTM was like a huge surprise to everyone because you just would never see him in any reality shows or media, and also because he's such a big legend in the scene. TMI - Animal was originally E SENS' song, which was going to be in his latest album 'Jeogeumtong'. He ended up throwing the song away, so I guess NOWIMYOUNG picked it up to use for this performance.

besides the scandal, rare featuring and OGness of E SENS, hes genuinely regarded as a legend and one of the most skilled korean rappers ever. in fact, many of the top rappers we know have said he's the best at rapping itself. he's heavily regarded as one of the greats alongside DOK2, The Quiett, Beenzino and JTONG etc. In fact, he's regarded even higher than JTong. Many rappers and true KHH enthuasiasts regard his album 'Anecdote' as the best album ever or very up there.

There were sooooo many people hating on Haon saying it would be boring if he won and saying he hadn't shown anything special enough considering his fame but I noticed after this stage, everyone shut the hell up and was like "ok, haon won the show". It's definitely an SMTM all-timer stage especially considering that was solo and look at the features lineup this round😂

Personally, I do think Bewhy's verse was weak but I do wonder if Osun and Raf Sandou's stage impact on the audience suffered from going after Haon

That’s so confusing to me, I feel like he did his thing the entire show. Features have been stacked and solo’ing it was so badass, definitely one of the best stages I’ve seen in SMTM.

Stylistically I guess he was a bit disconnected and stage wise I guess but his story in the song was good and portrayed well either way. I didn’t expect that vibe from him and I feel like he killed it. I still think over mason we should’ve had raf, at the very least. OSUN, I agree he did super well too… I get sick towards the semi finals man ngl each time I watch.

I personally did not like Junhyuks performance at all and understand why he placed so low even though he was one of my favs throughout the season. It kind of gave the rap mission songs we usually hear during idol shows like boys planet idk it was lowkey corny. Maybe it wouldve done better on hsr idk

Woodz going from being on smtm to featuring is craaaaazy, love Rafs song man, love how much raf and the rest of okashii feels like they’ve grown from rap public, sad he didn’t make it to the end, he was telling fans he was sad but happy he made it farther than rap public, in rap public he told fans he was disappointed he couldn’t show his craft and cried so hard on the way home when he was eliminated the taxi driver needed to help him

E SENS is, in my opinion, the greatest in the k-hiphop scene. His album The Anecdote, which released while he was in prison, is one of the greatest Khiphop albums ever - people call it the Korean Illmatic. And his subsequent albums are just as great. I love his music a lot. He is most definitely an OG. If you like Animal, you should really check out some of E Sens's music (with translations ofc, because he speaks a lot of real shit in his rap).

Animal by NowImyoung was amazing, and seeing E SENS there was crazy. He’s really an OG who’s respected by everyone. If you want to learn Korean, people often recommend his songs because his diction is so clear. For Zene The zilla, as someone who grew up watching SMTM it was really emotional. My eyes get watery every time I hear the intro, honestly, it feels like he was robbed not making the final. Illionaire Records gives me a similar feeling to what Higher Music might be for you. The Quiett and Dok2 were everywhere when I first got into KHH For MILLI, it was definitely better than her previous performance, but for me it was really about lIlBOI and Wonstein, she just didn’t stand out as much. The Noryangjin Fish Market is somewhere I totally recommend. I lived in that neighborhood for a year, and the vibe is amazing. Junhyuk wasn’t that good for me, and the audience reaction felt kind of dead. Tray B was really good, and using Nilili Mambo was genius, it got everyone hyped right from the start. HAON did the best overall. I also really liked Osun’s stage and song, it was great, although I didn’t really like the feature from BewhY. At first, I thought Raf Sandou might be forgettable, but he was actually really great. And seeing WOODZ back on SMTM, but singing, was a surprise. In the end, the lineup I would have chosen for the final is: HAON, Zene The Zilla, NowImyoung, Tray B, and Osun.

I'd like to make a guess that it's because it was a long time ago. The only reason SIK-K wasn't able to appear on stage was that his trial is still on-going/recent. Loopy also faced some legal troubles with marijuana, but he appeared in rap public and SMTM12: 야차의 세계.

Just finished watching this and how they killed it!! I’m so sad to see OSUN, RAF, and JUNHYUK…. I do agree on your take of raf instead of mason personally I love both and they did great but ugh is so sad to see the semi finals bc Everyone is so talented. Now adding these tracks on my playlist!! I full heartedly agree. But I think when it comes to moving the crowd and the stage performance, I do think Mason Home went OFF. Songwise I prefer Junhyuk's, Osun's and even Raf's. But Mason did his thing on stage

YES, and I've been thinking that since his appearance in HSR4 when he got compared as "Baby Changmo". I do think he got that Bobby-Wild Flavor, but tone I definitely new Gen Changmo. I want them to make a song together so badly

Here are my thoughts after each performance: Mason Home- I really liked the beat and Mason's auto tune went really well with the beat, imo. His performance and stage presence was really crazy, including the features!!! I loved when Coogie yelled without the mic, it gave me goosebumps bahaha. I do think the chorus was a little lackluster for me, since it was mostly just a chanting of a two syllable word, but I'm curious how my mind may or may not change listening to it on a streaming platform hmm. NOWIMYOUNG- I'm ngl, I didn't really like this performance unfortunately. I think it was nice to have Hukky on the drums and E SENS had a vocal tone and verse that I really enjoyed, but Nowimyoung's tone wasn't really to my taste, at least with this beat perhaps. I've liked a lot of boombap from what I've heard in khh, but I think I would have liked a little bit more variation in it? Not sure, but I would have ranked this low for me.

Nowimyoung performance was good but not that good to win against the other competitors, his tone doesn't match with how he raps( the flow of the rap), yes he showed us smth new he can do but like its not impressive rap flow comparing him to the others he was honestly overhyped
