I'm not gonna lie, if we shooting subs I want BOTH of these groups to drop DISS TRACKS!!! Yeah, I'm instigating LOL. This situation actually was super interesting because I understand marketing and I come from a youtuber background so I know of opportunistic moments to be able to promote your stuff so even considering CEO comments online it's like -- both sides lowkey promoting too lol.

This is so interesting to me, as someone who follows kpop for a long time, just like you Anthony u must know as well that, it was not common at all seeing the CEO’s beefing or throwing shade public on instagram or twitter lmfao, even more in the kpop industry. But if it really had an intention behind this lyrics it would be even more funny and interesting to me. Keeping in mind between this 3 groups, they have some kinda of connection since some of the members were trainees together actually. And the fact that apparently, a member of LNGSHOT threw some shade on their last performance. It is really a whole new era in the kpop industry. Imagine if this 3 groups somehow starts to shade each other in their songs lol. I don’t like the rivalry, but between fandoms there nothing much we can do, it’s almost like mandatory in kpop haha, but between the groups… And since this whole situation is more wayfboys and LNGSHOT. I can actually see them saying some shit in their future releases. Idk about Cortis bcs of their company . And the truth is Cortis is the biggest 5th gen group rn. That’s why they put Cortis into this mess. But since all of these 3 groups are still super young, even though I think wayfboys have older members than the other 2 groups. I know they are all thinking about it, since in some way they are competing u know. Just the future to tell us. It’s fun to watch from outside haha

Addition. About the 🧊 shit. For me I really hope they wrote this lyrics with what they truly believe, but even if they didn’t, or just did to call people’s attention. It doesn’t matter to me. It brings attention to the situation anyways. And also it doesn’t matter where they are from, we all can talk about any situation that is going on in the world. I have a slightly different pov from you/ plus comments lol. Okay I'm ngl I was looking forward to them bc of Andrew but they icked me out. They wanted a strong and groundbreaking debut but they just came off corny and bitter. Keep in mind Wayfs youngest member is the same age as Cortis’s and Lngshots oldest. They took something that the internet was doing (comparing them to Lngshot and Cortis) and made a one sided beef with just Lngshot bc they wont dare mention a hybe group by name. Their CEO went to claim that he doesn't even know longshot (mind you, two of them were in lngshots lineup but okay) while mocking them, deleted that and apologized, saying that he always knew them and respected them/Jay. He deleted that as well. Makes another story talking about hiphop and how much he respects Black artists saying he never mentioned a specific group when he was literally reposting longshot and tagging them lol Like you said no one is saying lngshot is groundbreaking and hiphop pioneers but acting like people are reaching for noticing the similarities between the two rollouts is crazy. What made them icky to me was someone claimed that the wayf logo was stolen from a shirt that Ohyul wore in the saucin mv, one of the wayf boys posted a pic of ohyul and the logo saying not to disrespect him and his art lol idk it was weird and unnecessary . He could've easily google imaged searched the tshirt and proved his point, but he wanted to be corny instead. This isn't the same thing that happened with Lngshot and cortis at all, before Lngshot debuted people were calling them Evil cortis, neither lngshot/jay or cortis shaded e/o over the comparisons. Lngshot proved people wrong through the MUSIC not being corny online. And mind you all Woojin said back was to not mention them lol plus Jay saying everything that needs to be said was already said in the 4shoville mixtape. This is obviously a rage bait marketing strategy and I'm not moving at all. (lolll sorry for the long yap🫶🏽)

I agree it's interesting! The CEO's doing all of this is what kind of makes it feel like... more real? Apparently some trainees had supposed beef from pre debut days... the lore LOL. Yeah, I genuinely don't think it has anything to do with CORTIS outside of some fans stringing them in, certainly more of a LNGSHOT thing. Unless the CEO did say something about CORTIS too? Apart from the lyrics thing, which if that was the case... that's just BOLD AF! I assume due to the Jay Park, the possibility of diss battles could be REAL which I'd love LOL.

Wayf didn't directly say anything about cortis so I dont think theyll say anything. They didn't even say anything when that one underground rapper Martin liked shaded them. They seem too nice and hybe will never approve seeing how insanely popular they are right now. And yess they're all connected, Woojin trained with Martin, two wayf boys trained with Lngshot.

Yeah, I don’t think for now Cortis will say anything at all since this one in specific had nothing to do with them, but they did throw Cortis there anyways lol. I know they see this stuff and they know, bcs sometimes in their welives or in the podcast with Tablo for example, they kinda slide the they see their hate in the internet and they are pretty chronically online ( expected for their age). But like u said, not just bcs of the company but I do feel like Cortis are genuinely too nice haha. I think they might think about it, and talk about with the members but not actually give it away anything. But about this whole situation, the thing that really gave some credibility I would say was the CEO’s beefing, bcs if it was just the fandoms comparing it would be just another day in the kpop world. But the fact that the CEO’s got shady was the main thing lol. I just know there is so much things like this even between group members that we don’t know. No I appreciate the long yap!! I agree, it's quite odd that people aren't acknowledging the similarities within the rollout/marketing of the group. Though I liked the WAYF ceo accrediting his inspiration to hip hop and black artists but in the sense after the string of stories and backpeddaling that he did it just didn't feel real LOL. I agree with you - I don't think we have differing opinions with all of this lol,. I just didn't expound all the ig story stuff because I only seen screenshots/not it happening in real time as I did the tweets and fans online., I just kinda feel like responding like that really says it all... and if I were to make a kpop bg even if developing them takes a while, I'm looking at the market... to see what's being received well vs what isn't and it seems like they seen that as a trend/latest n greatest and said f it lets go... which in kpop I guess that's fine, we're used to that, but you can't be offended when people call it out like that lol.

I'm a kpop stan since mid 2000's and cortis is the only kpop group I'm interested in right now. I don't care about kpop anymore,but this situation is so funny. That ceo is weird and Jay park is Jay park. Cortis is the biggest 5th-gen group right now and they're from hybe. I doubt that Wayf Boys or Lngshot would risk dissing them. And although I don't listen to them,it seems like lngshot and wayf boys are loving cortis' songs. I've seen some clips of lngshot members dancing to ycc,one of the members of wayfboys is obsessed with fashion,he danced to it so many times. Plus even if someone dissed them, cortis is too busy to respond

Idk I’m kind staying out of this but for the most part I feel like what people are regarding as shading is taken out of context like when Anderson posted the “ohyul” photo it wasn’t a direct photo but a screen shot of a tweet from a “fan” saying he stole the art or similarly and that tweet from the “fan” is excluded from the hate on him, sure he could’ve posted the shirt but it was about the tweet and art, even then death threats on his personal account isn’t cool The supposed shots I don’t know the full context since I didn’t watch the full live but the fact he said shotties(fandom name) and comparing it to the wayf line shawties seems very tame and it only blowing up more because some people don’t know the difference and deeming it as hate idk Fruit for thought But I think a lot of what people deem as hate has felt really one sided like the wayf boys haven’t said anything other than the logo part And for the most part I didn’t see the ceo stories as much as other than him saying don’t compare although The Whole way he said it was dumb for the most part lol just fueling fan wars Also people were loving when Ryan and Andrew were releasing this music before the group debut, or supporting members when they were on the finals of survival shows all of a sudden it’s bad because they have a similar sound or style but maybe I’m getting too into it now lol I think the only person I can think of that has shawty lyrics is taeyang lol I could be way wrong And now I see the instigation bit of a reach but you funny ant lmao Also at this point I don’t think we can put kpop into one single set of genre lol I also thought the use of nu-kpop was like how people use nu metal or nu core, just a mix on genres with a modern twist

I think people want to make a bigger deal over a situation that lowkey doesn't exist. I honestly never got the fan wars thing in the Kpop industry in my opinion. People can have preferences but hating on a group because certain sounds sound alike is wild to me

I don't really go there, but I feel like people really over analyze everything. Especially K-pop fans. I'm saying this as a person that is fairly new to k-pop, only getting into it around the end of 2024, but I feel like it's often that k-pop fans make a situation bigger than it actually is. The thing that Cortis, Longshot and Wayfboys have in common is that they're inspired by hiphop and rnb. And Longshot fans are doing the same thing that Cortis fans did when Longshot debuted, which is accusing them of copying Longshot just like cortis fans accused Longshot of copying Cortis. I personally find it pretty stupid when people accuse a group of copying, just because they do the same genre. No shade to the groups, they got nothing to do with it as it is mostly the fandoms that are the problem. Especially since the beef is between the Ceo's and not the boys themselves. That's all, sorry for the long rant :)

I think Jay Park was outta line for calling the group the blueprint but lowkey I see what he means. I’m not sure how to explain it, but the WayF boys roll out doesn’t seem authentic to me. And I know that’s controversial considering it’s K-pop we’re talking about. I’ve been aware of the members of this group. (With some being in boys planet, and another being in NCT Laststart). And not to sound parasocial, but this just doesn’t “feel” like them. This is a group of talented vocalists who do great in acapella. Instead of releasing and R&B pop hit they instead defaulted to a rap debut that sounds eerily similar to ‘saucin’ and a music video that I find to be reminiscent of ‘go’ and idntt ‘boytude’. To be fair, I think plagiarism claims in kpop are usually baseless, after all it’s the same producers being shuffled around groups. Not to mention it’s just a particular MV style, however this debut seemed lazy to me and wasn’t a great showcase of the guys talents. Do I think beef is personal, doubt it. Frankly, I think fans are making it a bigger deal than what it actually is. Both groups have a lot more to worry about at the current moment. Even so, I won’t call the claims Jay Park was making baseless. In MY opinion, WayF boys was biting off of Lngshot's recycled nachos. Do I think the marketing and debut of WayF boys was a little gimmicky and uninspired, yes. But unoriginality isn’t a crime. And just because they had Lngshot on the mood board, I still don’t think it’s worth the lashing they’re getting on twitter right now. 😭but regardless, I’m messy so I want a diss track.
