Hey heroes!

Each week on Discord, community members nominate other members' suggested items to be made into official Saddlebag items. The top two most voted-for item ideas each week get made, following back and forth workshopping and discussion.

You can submit your ideas on Discord, too! Come join us in the #patron-item-workshop channel!

You may recognize some returning item suggestions! Items can be renominated and re-drawn for weekly polls following a week-long cooldown.

Here are the randomly selected item ideas drawn from this week's nominations!

Ideas

1) Nimbleweave — This sash allows a monk to use their patient defense feature every time they spend a ki point. In addition, if a monk wears the sash as a blindfold, they gain tremorsense out to 30 feet.

2) Cherry Bomb — A bright fuchsia specialty alcoholic beverage that can make harmless candle flames appear on fingertips. A rarer version of the potion allows you to cast a less powerful fireball spell.

3) Impulsum Butterfly — This brass clockwork butterfly occasionally flaps its stained glass wings. It has charges that can be expended to force a target to reroll a saving throw. Alternatively, you can expend all charges to shatter the butterfly’s wings in a thunderous crash to treat the result of an attack roll, ability check or saving throw as a 1 or a 20. Once used, it takes 3 days for the glass wings to slowly reform.

4) Elemental Cartridge — This tin box is designed to hold up to six of your firearm bullets. Daily at dawn, any bullets stored in the tin gain elemental properties and deal bonus elemental damage to any targets hit by them.

5) Witch’s Boomstick — A musket made from a witch's broomstick. You can use a command word to have it fly to your hand, and can cast a few spells including hex from it. When you attack a creature affected by the weapon's hex, you have increased range and can make a free movement after hitting them.

6) Event Horizon Grasp — This strange prosthesis is made of a starry void surrounding a meteoric alloy. While attuned, the prothesis replaces your lost arm and extends your reach up to 10 feet. You can cast the telekinesis spell, allowing you to throw objects or creatures, along with the reverse gravity spell once per day.

7) Kiss of the Water Moccasin — This poison is derived from serpentine toxins and causes a creature slashed with it to begin hallucinating, changing their perception of their surroundings to be in a swamp and surrounded by snakes. The hallucination ends when it is no longer poisoned.

Keep on adventuring!

I just generally love the drinks! I've had potions use alcohol as a base in my head cannon for a long time, love the whole idea and mechanics!

Event Horizon Grasp is cool. Not sure though if that is going for more of a sci-fi magi-tech feel or a lovecraftian magic from the great void feel. One is just advanced science, while the other is warping the laws of nature. Either would be cool. Perhaps both versions exist- one composed of sleek and polished metal, one composed of moving, pulsing, entangled cables of living metal.

Split the difference, make it like Control and do both lol

Ooh! Like maybe advanced magi-tech was used to capture and use a small Far Realm creature as a power source/key component, so if the arm was ever destroyed it might release the imprisoned Aberration that you now have to deal with. Opens up some great possibilities for a cursed version where the creature is able to exert some influence over the user!

Now I'm thinking somewhere out in space there is a world who developed an advanced society capable of doing impossible things thanks to using their magic-tech to trap and utilize Far Realm creatures. They thought they could control the uncontrollable, they were wrong. Now all that is left of them are the occasionally discovered piece of technology, but rumor has it their ruined homeworld still exists with treasures beyond imagining waiting for those brave enough to find it and face whatever sanity shattering horrors now make that world their home.

Sounds like you have a spelljammer campaign to write
