Ball of Giant Spiderweb (Patreon)

Wondrous item, uncommon

This three-inch-diameter ball of magical web is especially strong. Upon closer scrutiny, countless spiderlings skitter around inside it. You can use this ball of web as a material component when casting the web spell. After doing so, the ball unravels and disappears.

When you cast the spell in this way, its area becomes a 30-foot cube, and a giant spider appears in a space of your choice that's covered by the web. The spider is friendly to you and your allies and vanishes when the spell ends, taking its turns on initiative count 20. On its turn, the spider moves and attacks the nearest non-friendly creature within 30 feet of the web, using the webbing to its advantage as best it can.
