Snowy town for 97! Using the same process as the costal town in painting 42, we're going to paint a snowy town version starting with just the shapes of the roof tops. I do have a reference photo attached that I took inspiration from, but try to imagine the houses as you paint around them. Using blue snow shadows and trees, a lot of the buildings come to life before even adding the color. Go darker than you think with the house color to bring needed contrast to this very "white" painting. I can't wait to see how you do with this one! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Paper: arches 140 lb cotton 9X12" paper that I've cut into 3X3" pieces, giving me 12 pieces per page.

Paint: The palette I'm using today is the split primary palette by letter sparrow: cad yellow deep, lemon yellow, cad red, magenta, ultramarine blue, cerulean(probably closer to phthalo blue), indigo and sap green. I don't use all the colors, but I will name them as I mix them. Feel free to use pre mixed convenience colors as well.

Brushes: round 4 & rigger- Princeton brand.

That really depicts a snowy town on a slope and love the different tones. The fence really brings it to life so beautiful thanks Kristin. Gosh not many more and 🥳🥳🥳 100 tiny paintings in a year!

Can you link to your rigger brush? I don't have one and get overwhelmed by options and price points. 🫠🫠

Loved this one.... a bit tricky to think of roofs with snow without drawing the houses first.
